  • "Superb hosts, and lovely property, will return in the summer."

  • "We visited The Dairy with my friend’s dog because it said it was dog friendly."

However, when we arrived, there were instructions that the dog was not allowed upstairs and if any dog hairs were found upstairs we would be charged for extra cleaning. It also said that the dog was not allowed on the furniture which we agree with anyway, but why weren’t these details in the original advert? My friend’s dog has always had her bed at the side of J’s bed since she was rescued and she found it very unsettling not being able to come upstairs to bed when we went to bed.

The cottage is super clean, cosy, warm and very well equipped with everything you could want for a comfortable stay. The dairy is situated in a beautiful spot, the views are picture perfect. Wendy is a lovely, warm host who made us feel very welcome and just leaves you to enjoy your holiday, but if you need anything she is very helpful. Looking forward to our next visit! • "I would describe this property as dog tolerant rather than friendly."

Front garden is patio only and wall too low to allow dogs off leads. Paddock is available but dogs can get through the gates. Cleaning looks like its left to the last occupants. Beds very uncomfortable. Owner was ever present, checking up. Even entering the property twice without being invited in! Insisted on checking the property before leaving, for cleanliness. Bit of a cheek considering the amount of cleaning I did when I first got there! Beautifully situated but won't be back.

Thank you for your feedback. We have several areas for exercising dogs here on the farm, but all dogs without good recall we ask to remain on leads due to the livestock. We live on site and try to meet and greet our guests on arrival and encourage our guests to message any issues if they arise so they can be swiftly resolved. This did not happen. We take great pride in the cleanliness of our properties. On departure day we wish our guests a safe journey and again ask if there’s anything we can improve upon. There was no mention of any problems during your stay. Both Sykes and myself have tried to contact you to discuss the issues you reported - but as yet we’ve had no success. We would like to know which beds and which cleaning issues you had problems with so we can remedy these issues for future guests. Wendy & Steve. Property Owner

  • "This was our second time to stay at The Dairy in Tideswell."

Stayed there for a week 6 months ago too. Loved it so much we came back again which in my opinion is always the best recommendation! The cottage is lovely. Home from home. Everything you need is there in abundance & the Owners Wendy & Steve can be reached very easily for recommendations, tips on exploring the area. There are lovely views of green fields whilst sitting on the sofas looking out the windows & great walks that start just outside the front door. The Locals in the pubs, fish & chip shops are very friendly & welcoming too. Four of us stayed in the cottage (two adult couples) + our little West Highland Terrier dog & he was made to feel very welcome & included too everywhere we went. I can’t fault the place. There is not one thing I could ask them to improve on. We intend going back again next year.

What lovely feedback Caroline. It’s so nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay and hope to return again. We’ve loved having you back and it gives us great satisfaction to hear that the cottage is working well after 28 years of welcoming visitors to our little farm in the heart of the Peak District. All the best. Wendy & Steve x Property Owner

You can walk from The Diary on numerous adventures or travel a short distance to the wonderful Edale Valley and others. Wendy the owner was very friendly. Highly recommended.

  • "Great weekend - Steve and Wendy the owners were very accommodating."

They allowed us to pet their beautiful horses and as they had border collie dogs and we had one, they let us use the horse paddock for all 3 dogs to run. Accommodation was very cosy with everything required in place. Beds were very comfortable. This weekend was arranged so we could meet our daughter and grandson who travelled from Cambridgeshire to celebrate his 6th birthday. Again Wendy and Steve were very friendly and encouraged our grandson to pet the horses and chickens. He was chuffed. Would definitely go again as it’s a beautiful part of England

It was absolutely fantastic. The cottage was beautiful, nicely decorated, in a beautiful location, clean, nice big bathroom, we had all the utensils we needed to cook, shared utility room, much more than we expected. I always get worried about getting cold at night, but the place was nice and warm I didn't get cold at all. The view was the best part for me; looking at the sheep in the field through out the window, when we were seating at the table, was very relaxing and made feel happy. Wendy - the owner - was fabulous, she would answer our messages or phone calls very quickly and was always keen to help. We took with us our new puppy - Osito - and she was very kind and helpful as to what was needed for him. She even looked after Osito a couple of days when we couldn't take him with us in our daily trips! She also gave us some good advice about places to visit. We also found lost of information in the cottage about he local and not so local attractions. We had some really nice food in the pub nearby. We all enjoyed the walks around the fields. The landscape when we were driving around was amazing. Thanks Wendy, we had a great time!
