Settled within the scenic Peak District National Park in the small village of Middleton-by-Youlgrave near Youlgreave, Derbyshire, is this superb stone-built holiday home, The Cottage. Enjoying stunning country views and a private patio with barbecue, The Cottage is an idyllic setting for a family of three and their furry friends for exploring the wonders of the Peaks.

Take advantage of the ample parking space available, before unloading your bags and stepping into the cottage to begin your holiday. Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, where you can look forward to evenings snuggled up on the plush two-seater sofa, as you enjoy your favourite film courtesy of the TV as the woodburning stove crackles nearby.

Venture into the well-equipped kitchen with oven, microwave and fridge/freezer, to conjure up a flavoursome feast for your guests.

Gather around the dining table for three as you tuck-in to a delicious meal, whilst discussing plans for the adventures ahead.

If you are lucky enough to have sunshine, why not make dinner an alfresco affair and fire up the barbecue on the patio?

As the evening cools, indulge in a toasty shower before catching your rest in the sumptuous family room with king-size and single, perfect for a restful night.

Awake from a leisurely slumber, before preparing for the day in style and setting out for the day.

Head into the historic village of Youlgreave, where you will find three welcoming pubs, all serving tasty home-cooked meals and local ales, ideal for those evenings where you fancy a night off from the kitchen, as well as two well-stocked shops and an impressive medieval church.

Nearby, you will find the fascinating Arbor Low Stone Circle and Gib Hill Barrow, a prehistoric monument which rests near an ancient burial mound.

Next stop is the delightful market town of Bakewell, where you can delve into the town’s history at The Old House heritage museum, soak up your beautiful surroundings on the historic Bakewell Bridge, or sample the local delight of the scrumptious Bakewell Tart!

Be sure make a stop at the grand stately home of Chatsworth House, which houses a superb art collection and is surrounded by lush grounds with a farmyard, playground and labyrinth.

Not forgetting the nearby Haddon Hall, a medieval manor house which boasts a grand Tudor Hall and Elizabethan style gardens and is well worth a visit!

A footpath passes by the property giving easy access to wonderful local walks such as along Gratton Dale, Smerrill Moor and the Limestone Way. Be sure to book The Cottage as your base for a refreshing break.

Surrounded by stunning countryside, the Historic village of Youlgreave winds its way along a narrow limestone shelf, situated between two of the area's loveliest valleys - Lathkill Dale to the north and Bradford Dale to the south. Once the centre of Derbyshire's lead-mining industry, this charming village now plays home to three pubs, all serving Home Cooked food, two shops (one with a Post Office) and a delightful medieval church. The attractive market town of Bakewell is nearby and offers a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a weekly local market. With the whole of the Peak District National Park on the doorstep, many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, Kedleston Hall, Clake Abbey offering a great day out. Alton Towers, Britain's premier theme park, is just a short drive away, this great area has plenty to offer!
