  • "Issues with boiler, broke down and so no heating or hot water for part of stay, sky box not receiving signal so no tv."

Very poor to non existent starter pack. Outlook from rear of property spoilt by overgrown foliage and dumped items. Information re rubbish collection out of date. Small water leak in downstairs cloakroom.

  • "Very disappointed."

Parking outside or near the cottage was impossible. Although the lack of handrail on the stairs was mentioned it was more precarious than I had imagined. The cottage was very damp. Lots of damp stains on the walls. The only tv channel that was available was ITV1 although free view was advertised. The bathroom was very modern with a spacious shower and large bath. The kitchen was modern although some of the cupboards smelt of damp. The cottage was clean and tidy. The small patio area sadly has been neglected.

  • "Unfortunately on arrival one of our party really needed the toilet so he went SADLY we then had to run out find a shop and purchase toilet roll as there was none provided."

I really thought we had returned to our camping days when you had no choice but to take your own. The TV had VERY limited stations we could not access terrestrial TV even though this was advertised. When one of the party has mental health issues and must access his programme or meltdown ensues it proved an unpleasant but avoidable situation. Logs were provided but no firelighter could be found.

Specific thanks to cleaner who was waiting to make sure we found the cottage as there is more than one Jasmine Cottage and they had struggled to find it!

  • "The cottage was in a great location."

very central for all the places we wanted to visit. Very comfortable and clean. The beds were great. Would definitely recommend This cottage to friends. The only negative thing about the property was the lack of a banister up the stairs. Which could easily be rectified.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Jasmine cottage, it would be even more fabulous if the garden was cleared the views over the dales would be stunning."

Sadly we didn’t enjoy the outside space to its fullest as the holiday cottage next door had a very noisy family staying and their garden runs the full length of Jasmine with no privacy. The luck of the draw I guess as to who is staying there, not the fault of Jasmine cottage at all. Youlgreave is a fab village with lots of amenities a short walk from the cottage and the walks down to the rivers are great, definitely a place to stay if you like lots of walks without having to drive anywhere first. Cottage is well equipped for a holiday with everything you could want, thanks Megan

! !shame cause would be nice to seat outside with good weather, and you would see the stunning views too if cut trees scrubs besides this a good cottage but garden let's it down on star rateing.

  • "Overall we really enjoyed our stay and found the cottage a lovely place to be."

The only downsides were the double bedroom light was completely broken despite trying 3 different bulbs in it which made the evenings a faff, and some of the master bedroom (eg bedside table) was quite dusty and the garden quite messy. But overall we really enjoyed our stay and would come back again

Comfortable cottage. Single beds not overly comfortable. Very useful little shop nearby. After weekend, no issue on parking.

  • "We LOVE Jasmine Cottage - this is second time we have stayed there and we hope to visit again soon!"

The feature wallpapers in each room make us smile, we love the zany light fitting in the kitchen. We had been put off by the lack of guaranteed parking but there is a huge free car park just up the road and we can easily get on street parking once the walkers/visitors have left by 6pm on Saturday. Some one had left a couple of saucepans a bit eggy but not a problem to clean them. MORE tea towels would be GREAT - one just isnt enough if you dont us the dishwasher.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in the cottage."

It was comfortable and well equipped. Parking was sometimes challenging but there is a car park a little way up the road and we left our car there for a couple of days when we didn't need it. A neighbour told us about this and it would have been useful to have the information in the details.

The cottage itself was quirky & had all the facilities to make a really carefree easy visit. Bathroom facilities were excellent. The mobile reception was erratic but we believe not peculiar to Jasmine cottage.

  • "A lovely comfortable cottage in a perfect location."

We had a great week at Youlgreave and the cottage was perfect for our family of four. Well equipped for us to cook every night (and the pub did a great fish and chip takeaway for our last night's stay!). The cottage is perfectly located for exploring the Peak District and nothing was further than about 30 mins drive away (although many beautiful walks can access directly from Youlgreave itself and one day we simply spent all day paddling in the river in Youlgreave itself). A perfect escape:)

  • "Thank you for such an amazing week!"

The cottage was well located within Youlgrave, just a few minutes' walk to the shops and local pubs. It is a very spaceous cottage and we loved relaxing by the log fire after a long day of hiking. Kitchen facilities were excellent too as we mostly cooked our own meals. Youlgrave is very central to the best walks in the area, more convenient than Bakewell for our walks overall, and just a 10-15 frequent bus to Bakewell, with the bus stop 30 seconds from the cottage. An excellent week - would recommend highly!!

  • "We had a great week in Jasmine Cottage."

The house was just right for us and had pretty much everything we needed. The village location is brilliant - quiet but with pubs and shops a few minutes walk away and loads to do within half an hour's drive. The on-road parking was a bit tricky a couple of times but generally OK. Our only real quibbles would be the beds - the single beds are so squeaky, and the double bed quite uncomfortable. I also think it would be helpful to specify which door the key opens (as it's not the one next to the key safe!).

Parking is on-street - we coped. There are some great walks to be done from the front door - the map and guides provided in the cottage are really helpful. The local post office store is friendly and offers most of what you need. Instructions in the cottage are concise and helpful. Much enjoyed - thank you.

The owner knew about both of these problems before we arrived and didn't attempt to fix them. I was left no cleaning products so had to go out and purchase some especially to try and stop the smell of the toilet.

We both became ill after a couple of days. No support from the owner or Sykes. Parking/unloading can be tricky if the holiday cottage next door is occupied. Not particularly child-friendly as there isn’t a garden to play in although there are rural views. ------------------------------------------------- Many thanks for your feedback, we have fed your comments back to the owner in order to maintain our property standards.
