“There isn't parking outside the church so you have to walk a fair way to get parked sometimes.”

The property

This superb, converted Methodist chapel apartment enjoys a central position in the bustling town of Matlock, resting on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Boasting a bright and airy interior, with wonderful reminders of the church features throughout, this stunning apartment is a superb stay for families and friends looking to explore this lovely part of Derbyshire.

After a busy day exploring, be welcomed into an open-plan living room, where the Gothic arch windows flood the room with natural light to offer a refreshing space to spend your evenings in.

The designated chef of the group will be delighted to find a stylish kitchen area, where you will be able to prepare delicious home-cooked meals and your loved ones can gather at the island unit to share holiday stories over a bottle of wine.

Enjoy your wind down time in the sitting area, where you will find wonderful high ceilings and plush sofas to tune into the Smart TV to catch up on your favourite TV shows before heading to bed.

Follow the staircase up, where you will be welcomed by the original arch which leads you into the two well-presented bedrooms.

Each bedroom houses a super-king-size bed (zip/link beds, can be made into twins on request), with one enjoying an en-suite bathroom and the other complete with an en-suite shower room.

If you can tear yourself from this outstanding base, a short stroll will bring you to a selection of pubs and restaurants, as well as a choice of shops to explore one afternoon.

The surrounding area comes with a magnitude of attractions to suit all tastes, including Lumsdale Falls, The Heights of Abraham and the theme park of Gulliver's Kingdom.

For those feeling active, head to the Peak District National Park, where you will find opportunities for walking and cycling and to brush up on the local history by visiting the stately home of Chatsworth House.

Church Quarters is a splendid getaway that the whole family will enjoy.
