Spent a great two weeks here for our family summer holiday. It's in a great location in easy reach of all areas of the Peak District together with towns like Derby, Maclesfield and Sheffield, so plenty of options for both good and bad weather. Tricia and Paul were perfect hosts and even took us over the road to their Crown Green Bowling club and introduced us to the sport. Its located on the edge of Matlock, walk into the town is all down hill, the walk back up is a little strenuous. Some great family and dog friendly pubs in walking distance, where prices are dead cheap for beer and food compared to down south.
“This is a lovely cottage and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.”
The enclosed garden was great for the dogs and an evening in with the sun room at the top. The cottage had all we needed and was very clean with comfortable large sofa's. The location is perfect for several local attractions. Many good walks close by. Had a great time.
“Lovely find, the homemade scones and ice lollies were a nice touch especially after our long drive.”
The Grannary has everything we could have hoped for. Thank you.

The cottage was clean, very well equipped, owners were very friendly and helpful, it’s close to loads of amenities, we would strongly recommend and will definitely be going back
“We were all delighted with The Grannery - four adults, two children and one dog.”
The accommodation was excellent and the outdoor area lovely. The dog particularly enjoyed the field. Highly recommended.
“Our stay at The Grannery was beyond perfect!”
We've stayed in many self catering cottages over the years but never one this good - from the warm friendly welcome (complete with fresh home made scones and jam) to the spotlessly clean rooms and a kitchen better equipped than our own at home! Ideally placed with great access to local walks, shops and attractions, this place is also ideal for dog owners like us as the addition of a secure enclosed patio area for our two to get some fresh air off the leash made the world of difference - plus it backed onto local footpaths for longer walks and there was a large, tiled hallway area to towel them off and dump muddy boots when we returned. The accommodation was beautifully warm and toasty throughout, with great wifi and multiple seating areas so our teenage daughter could have her own space, plus big squishy sofas and a stunning wetroom with big soft fluffy towels all included. Honestly never stayed in such beautifully appointed, equipped and cosy self catering place in almost twenty years - if you're deciding between this and anywhere else, this is the one to choose. Worth every penny and then some.
“Warm and comfortable cottage which was very well equipped.”
Lovely friendly welcome on arrival with homemade scones and shortbread. Very safe garden and paddock for our dog.
“Excellent cottage, fantastic owners who made us feel very welcome when we arrived and have continued to do so since then.”
