Spent a great two weeks here for our family summer holiday. It's in a great location in easy reach of all areas of the Peak District together with towns like Derby, Maclesfield and Sheffield, so plenty of options for both good and bad weather. Tricia and Paul were perfect hosts and even took us over the road to their Crown Green Bowling club and introduced us to the sport. Its located on the edge of Matlock, walk into the town is all down hill, the walk back up is a little strenuous. Some great family and dog friendly pubs in walking distance, where prices are dead cheap for beer and food compared to down south.

The property

Matlock 1.5 miles.

This lovely, semi-detached, single-storey barn conversion sits is in an elevated position close to the town of Matlock in the Peak District.

The Grannery is situated next to the owner’s home, across the communal yard from the original farmhouse however this is no longer a working farm.

Outside, there’s a large, private, enclosed patio with modern furniture and a gas barbecue.

The property will suit families and groups alike and is well placed for both town and country pursuits.

Golfers would be particularly keen to know that it could be treated as the 20th hole of the prestigious Matlock Golf Club, as the club house is just at the end of the drive.

The light, airy large sitting room with dining area has reclining sofas and a rocking chair, ideal for putting your feet up in front of the woodburner.

There is a practical and spacious galley kitchen and the lack of steps and walk-in shower room may make it suitable for people with limited mobility.

There are also three bedrooms, two of which have a TV.

Why not relax with a refreshing drink in the summerhouse whilst taking in the views of the hills above Matlock?

There is access from the patio to a field with swings for the children which can also be used for exercising dogs.

The closest pub serving meals is a twenty minute stroll away.
