The property

A Victorian grand house located in the heart of the wonderful Matlocks in Derbyshire.

The en-suite bedrooms and substantial space inside and out make Riverbank House absolutely perfect for large families and groups to enjoy a break in the Derbyshire countryside.

As a former award-winning B&B, this splendid Victorian house has been maintained to a high standard.

There is a fully equipped, recently modernised stylish kitchen with bifold doors providing access to the beautiful garden.

The spacious sitting and dining rooms are large enough for everyone with comfortable seats for all the guests.

Riverbank House comes with cosy bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and Freeview TVs.

The garden is perhaps the most impressive feature, with an enormous lawned area surrounded by well-kept plants and trees, a lovely summer house and plenty of garden furniture where guests can sit back and enjoy the sun.

Guests have fishing rights to fish on The River Derwent (rod license required) which meanders around the end of the garden.

Situated in the heart of the spa town of Matlock, guests have access to a variety of amenities as well as a Spa.

The beautiful green flag awarded Hall Leys Park sits on the opposite bank from the house, here you can enjoy a coffee in the Park Café whilst children can ride the miniature railway or play in the play area.

There also a variety of activities and facilities available for you to enjoy such as a skate boarding area, tennis, table tennis, basket ball and 5-a-side football courts.

There are so many attractions nearby such as Chatsworth House, take the cable car to the Heights of Abraham and of course the Peak District National Park which cannot be missed.

A lovely holiday home in a beautiful location, Riverbank House can be enjoyed throughout the year.

About the location

Matlock Bath 1 mile; Bakewell 8 miles.

The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham – a great place for all the family with its showcaves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich. To the north are the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park - not to be missed!
