Mr Stanford “The size of the cottage was very big,and and had loads of room.”
Nice little cosy room, if you wanted some me time. Kitchen became the hub of the cottage, and was great to sit and chat.

Mr Lettice “The best holiday cottage we have ever had.”
Lots of room for 7 people, good and spacious seating. The kitchen was very well equipped, everything there you would ever need. Washing machine was broken day we arrived, and a new one installed next day! The owner kept in touch with us, and was very kind and helpful. The whole cottage was beautifully furnished, and the bedrooms and bedding of highest quality. A lovely dining room, comfortable snug, and a lovely large table in the kitchen we could all sit round. A fantastic holiday, which the cottage contributed to enormously.
Mrs Lang “Milne house is a fantastic place to holiday.”
It has everything you could need, in a beautifully furnished house. It is close to everything you could wish to see in the local area.
Mrs Court “Yes, the owners accused us of breaking a kitchen chair, sent photos of it and are currently withholding the housekeeping bond.”
We did not break it and if we had accidentally we would have contacted the owners, we are very honest . My daughter said she noticed the chair on arrival, I didn’t notice it and possibly would have taken a photograph if I had. I have e mailed the owner 3 times and spoken on the phone to explain. Other small things, not enough toilet roll or dishwasher tablets. The feathers on one pillow in the spare room were so bad they were stabbing my son in the face. The fridge leaked water. No battery in the kitchen scales which we needed to weigh food. ( not what you would expect from 4 stars). Underneath the sofas were filthy which makes me think that the chair had been previously damaged and not noticed by the cleaners . I understand that it is our word against the cleaners but we did not break a chair and if we had the missing piece would have been placed on the side for repair with a note of explanation .
Mrs Whipp “Great location well equipped house just need a slightly larger duvet on the king size bed otherwise nearly perfect”
Mrs Russell “I booked this accommodation to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family, from the moment we opened the door we knew our holiday had started it is such a comfortable home from home.”
I would definitely recommend and we all would love to return for a longer stay.
Miss Ratcliffe “Fantastic place to stay.”
Milne house is simply gorgeous and we couldn't of asked for a nicer place to stay. The local people are so nice and friendly. We will definitely come back to the area and spend longer there as there is so much to do.
Alasdair G “A house set in heaven”
This house is set in the most glorious countryside with its own beautiful pet friendly (and child friendly) garden with additional hideaways which act as sun traps. The house is very comfortably furnished and the owners have spent a great deal of time ensuring that the house is a perfect place for a getaway. We went for only four days but wished that we had booked for longer. The house is close to a number of great pubs and restaurants not forgetting that it is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. I cannot recommend this place more highly. Thank you Mike and Helen for allowing us to stay.
Titanium04 “Superb”
I stayed here with friends for a much needed get together. 6 adults, 3 children under 2. It's a beautiful listed building with original features/decor. There's only one difficulty with that- it's cold when the heating goes off. That's it- everything else is positive feedback. Fully equipped kitchen, plush beds, great showers, log burner, 10 minutes drive from Buxton & a welcome bottle of wine. Perfect. Fantastic communication with the owners. Thank you.

Miller's Dale Cottages
Two beautiful adjoining cottages in the Peak District village of Miller’s Dale. This stunning restoration of Milne House and The Barn is a tasteful mix of original period features with contemporary fittings and soft furnishings, all beautifully combined. Both properties have a lovely outdoor space for dining alfresco and relaxing after an active day of outdoor activities that this stunning area has to offer. There are extensive landscaped gardens, providing a lovely area to enjoy the evening sun with your family and friends. If there are any keen bird spotters in your group, a walk on the tranquil River Wye, which passes in front of the two cottages, is a perfect place to spot the darting colour of the kingfisher, perhaps fishing for its feast of the teaming trout and salmon. Miller’s Dale is an excellent centre from which to explore the gorges of the Wye and the limestone plateau around it. Why not take a visit to the historic Peak District towns of Buxton and Bakewell, as well as the Monsal Trail which is right next to the cottages and takes in the magnificent surroundings? An ideal place to be stay at any time of the year.

About the location
MILLER’S DALE
Buxton 5 miles.
This delightful little settlement is squeezed into the valley of the River Wye, amidst glorious walking country in the heart of the Peak District National Park. There is a village pub serving food. The village takes its name from the best known of the many beautiful dales accessible to walkers along this stretch of the Wye - others include Chee Dale, Water-cum-Jolly Dale and Monsal Dale. But Miller’s Dale itself is widely regarded as the most impressive and complete dale to visit with a barrage of natural obstacles such as side stepping hills, gaps, gorges and rock faces. A wonderful peaceful base in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
