The property

This delightful, stone-built terraced cottage in the picturesque village of Monyash is perfect for a family or a group of friends wanting to enjoy their stay, right in the very heart of the stunningly beautiful, Peak District National Park.

The cottage is beautifully finished with a clever mix of traditional and contemporary features such as the impressive, original stone fireplace and modern wood flooring.

Quality furniture and soft furnishings give this lovely place a real “boutique” feel.

Two of the light and spacious bedrooms have stunning uninterrupted views to the rolling hills and dales.

The modern, high spec kitchen/diner is a great place for a power-up breakfast at the start of the day’s activities and the comfortable sitting room with soft sofas and mesmerising woodburning stove is a fantastic place to relax at the end of it.

If you’ve still got some energy left, there’s a good sized level lawn for children to run around on and there’s a lovely gravelled area with garden furniture, ideal for dining alfresco in this sun trap while you look out over the rolling fields and animals.

Your party might be interrupted however by the local horses as they often pop their heads over a neighbouring wall to say hello.

Walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers couldn’t be better placed with trails and routes just a stone’s throw from the door, such as the Limestone Way and Lathkill Dale.

And if all of that sounds simply too exhausting, a potter through Bakewell or a meander around Chatsworth House are other options 5 and 10 miles away.

This is a beautiful place, not to be missed in any season.

Booking was quick and straightforward and I was kept up to date with e-mail reminders and helpful information. The cottage was lovely; in a great location for exploring the Peak District. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner was really helpful - he responded quickly to emails and provided lots of useful information which helped make our holiday a very happy one. We have already booked another cottage with Sykes for later in the year and would definitely recommend them. Thank you.
