Queen Ann's Close is a fabulous, roomy stone cottage enjoying a soothing countryside location situation in the Wash, a small village between the picturesque village of Chinley and the market town of Chapel-en-le-Frith in the Peak District.

This Victorian era building served it's country well as a parachute factory in World War II.

It was also previously owned by the General Manager of the Daily Mail, and many famous people stayed there to protect that all important scoop.

Encompassed by the Peak District National Park and a wealth of fascinating towns, this luxury accommodation is a perfect base for a memorable break with family and friends.

Situated down a quiet country lane, enter the property into its immaculate and contemporary kitchen, a spacious layout with stylish clay tone units and a charming breakfast table to enjoy your morning coffee.

The refreshing, open layout takes you into the rustic, very social dining room featuring a double-faced woodburning stove in its stunning redbrick fireplace.

The traditional wooden floorboards lead to the heart-warming sitting room; vintage leather sofas and plenty of beanbags make this a wonderful spot to kick back with the TV on and living flame fire ablaze.

The first floor presents five beautifully furnished bedrooms including two benefiting from luscious en-suites and an elegant four poster bedroom.

There is also a simply remarkable family bathroom, finished with quirky tiles, a luxurious claw foot slipper bath and a double walk-in shower, a real touch of class.

The interior concludes wonderfully with a thoughtful children's room, complete with six single beds, cosy seating and a wall-mounted TV.

About the location

Buxton 7 miles.

Chapel-en-le-Frith is known as the Capital of the Peaks, with its cobbled market place and historic old stocks.

Just four miles away lies the spa town of Buxton, famous not only for its therapeutic spring water, but also for its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House, and which boasts a variety of shows, attracting people from all over the world.

A short drive away are an abundance of attractions including the Blue John Cavern and the castle at Castleton and many stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Lyme Hall.

Chinley is a lovely little village nestled in a wonderful rural setting, on the western edge of the Peak District National Park.

Popular with walkers, who are attracted by Chinley’s close proximity to Kinder Scout, visitors are well-catered for with the village’s selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak District National Park.

Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills.

Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away.
