There are walks around the village and beyond, moving up the valley to some of the most beautiful views of the Derbyshire Dales. Crich, the home of the National Tramway Museum is 4 miles away, and Matlock, 8 miles away, offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions including Gulliver's Kingdom.
