  • "Sadly we did not sleep well as all the lights outside are left on all night and the window coverings are not adequate."

Would be a nice enough place if fitted with blackout blinds.

  • "Had a fantastic time at Orchard View, we only booked at very short notice, but the cottage was wonderfully clean and tidy."

The kids loved the hot tub and we used it everyday. I would very much recommend staying here.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Orchard View, the owners have obviously gone to a lot of effort to ensure that the cottage and the area around the cottage is a very nice place to spend some time."

The accommodation had a high quality feel, and the hot tub and outside area were really lovely. We had a little dog with us and it was nice to be able to close the gates and let him free in the outside area. The grassed area outside the rear of the cottage was nicely kept and a great place to let our dog have a run around. Once you arrive and come down the drive to the property you can tell the place is very well maintained, the grass and hedgerows were all cut very neatly which gives a really nice first impression. The owners were friendly and helpful but didn't intrude at all, but it was nice knowing they were around if we needed them. The scenery around the farm is stunning and you only have to walk straight out of the door to appreciate the beautiful setting. Thanks again!

We had a lovely week, lots of nice walks from the cottage and not far to drive to areas of the Peak District.

Property is bigger than photos suggest, very clean and well equipped with an enclosed garden making it dog safe. Plenty of walks in the area, Matlock & Bakewell not that far.

  • "We spent a very enjoyable week at Orchard View."

The location is very peaceful - a wonderful base for exploring the area - and the property is full of character and charm. We loved the hot tub and fairy lights, and the huge comfy sofa in the living room. Very comfy beds also. Excellent broadband and streaming services made our stay even better. The only thing to note - if you're over six feet tall - is that a couple of the beams are quite low! But this of course is to be expected in any property of this age. The kitchen was well equipped and although there was no dishwasher this wasn't a problem for us. The owners were were always on hand if we needed anything, but not at all intrusive. All in all, a very relaxing stay and we hope to return!

  • "Absolutely gorgeous barn conversion, the space worked really well for us with the two lounges so the kids had their own room and two bathrooms and the teen in his own side of the house."

The kitchen is a good size, but we bbq and ate outside most nights. The private patio and dining area is excellent as is the communal bbq, lawns and picnic area. There’s a lovely walk (or run) down the lines or through the woods, the kids loved picking blackberries. It’s a great location for days out we enjoyed lots of lovely walks, open water swimming and days out at Chatsworth and the heights of Abraham. Thank you for a lovely week - we will be back!

The house itself had everything we needed and plenty of room for our family. We enjoyed walks in the nearby fields and woods. The location was perfect for exploring all corners of the Peak District too. We had such an enjoyable time and we will definitely come back.

  • "A beautiful cottage with high quality fixtures and fittings."

As further improvement I would recommend grab handles for the steps down into the sitting room and kitchen for those like me unsteady on their feet. Also to secure to the walls the looped cords for raising and lowering the window blinds to safeguard young children. I hope that does not sound negative because we had a very relaxing stay.

The cottage was homely and welcoming and tastefully decorated for Christmas. I was able to cook a 3-course meal for 6 comfortably with the resources provided by the cottage owners. The owners were very helpful and friendly, enhancing a great stay. The hot-tub, easy access to some seasonal walks and well situated for at least 3 great pubs that we also ate at made for a wonderful festive stay. Thank you; would love to stay again, in summer or for the winter holidays.
