  • "Excellent facilities."

Beautiful views across the countryside. Within easy distance of many areas to explore. Would have liked a choice of pillows. Thin ones as well as thick. One guest in disability room requested a nonslip mat for shower.

Thank you for your feedback and useful suggestions Barbara. The floor tiles in the wet room were selected as non-slip, suitable for use by those with mobility issues, but we can easily also supply a non-slip mat for extra safety. Thank you also to whoever left the fabulous poem in the visitor book - wonderful! Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Morridge view."

Check in was easy and we were greeted personally by the host. We had a wheelchair user who found the accommodation perfect for them, they had no issues at all and felt very comfortable there. The gardens are kept lovely, and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace eating our breakfast in the sun. Nothing to fault with this property.

Thank you Kirsty, really pleased that Morridge View worked out well for you all Property Owner

  • "Quite a last minute booking but very helpful owners and a beautiful, large cottage great for a group booking."

The big open kitchen/ living room space is perfect with a nice big dining table for meals cooked in the well decked out kitchen. Beds and bedrooms spacious and comfortable with nice bathrooms (although the lighting in those isn’t the best but I’m being very picky in saying that!) - the location is nice and rural but not too far from Leek and a few good pubs. Also close to Alton Towers which was the reason for our stay. And to top it all off…a charging point for EVs! Brilliant! We’d definitely stay again.

  • "A great cottage - ideal for a family group."

Kate was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The cottage was spotless, well equipped, roomy and in a beautiful location. There are many interesting places to visit nearby (even with Covid restrictions), some great walks and good (but steep!) cycling routes. We enjoyed using the barbecue on a couple of nights and walked the mile down to the Jervis Arms (you have to book in advance at present) on another two evenings for dinner. There is no garden as such, but the patio area was comfortable and ideal for viewing the beautiful sunsets. We also adapted the spacious car park and transformed it into a badminton court for the duration of our stay!

  • "Morridge view exceeded our expectations in every way."

We were given a friendly welcome by Kate on arrival plus two bottles of wine and a bottle of milk. The attention to cleanliness was outstanding. The bedrooms were large and comfortable and the bedding was like new. Our three family groups had access to their own bathrooms which reduced our concerns during this time of Covid. The large living area downstairs gave us the space we needed and the open plan kitchen and dining area were excellent. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil you could wish for. However, the highlight for us was the outside seating area. A safe place for the children to play with lots of comfortable seating for us adults. It was lovely to sit in a countryside setting with the combine harvesters at work, the sheep in the fields, a family of baby rabbits over the fence and the owl hooting in the trees. A perfect holiday in every way.

  • "Mooridge View is a lovely place and we enjoyed our holiday."

The one downside was that we were not allowed to use the fields around the house. We had chosen this house precisely because it appeared to have a lot of outdoor space for our four children to play in. It may be wise to reword this so that future guests are clear about what is on offer.

The surrounding area is farmland with live stock, therefore not suitable for playing ball games on. Property Owner

  • "Morridge View is a beautiful place to stay."

It’s a large barn conversion with a cottage feel. The barn is very well laid out and lends its self to a group of friends sharing with enough space for everyone. It’s clean and tastefully decorated throughout. Beds are comfortable and it has everything you could need for a self catering stay. We loved the large space and being able to stay together when cooking or sitting in front of the fire. The local area is full of things to do.. a nice walk to the local pub or a visit to the Peak Wildlife park. We came for Christmas and Morridge view was perfect. The owners had decorated the barn and it was magical! Not just a tree but beautiful twinkly touches everywhere. Such a nice surprised and wow factor when we arrived. We would definitely stay here again and really can’t recommend it enough.

The property was fabulous, quality furnishings and linens and comfortable beds meant the accommodation was perfect for us - the open plan aspect really works. The kitchen was very well equipped which made self catering easy. Unfortunately the weather meant we couldn’t enjoy the views, a good reason to return. A real gem of a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Kate, the owner, greeted us with a smile and was on hand should we have needed her.
