“Cottage was a good size although the shower was a bit on the small side but that's to be expected in an old building where you have to squeeze things in.”
Comfort wise the beds were fine as was the reclining chair, however the sofa needs relpacing as the springs are broken and dig into you when sitting on it. Facilities wise it had everything we needed and we enjoyed the table tennis room. The washer and dryer were handy too and the Wi-Fi signal was excellent throughout. The pint of milk, teabags and box of chocolates provided were a nice touch and much appreciated too.
I've marked cleanliness as low however due to the sheer volume of dog mess we found in the garden. I spent an hour one morning clearing up various deposits from previous residents dogs. Some was fresh, some had mould growing on it so had clearly been there some time. Not ideal when you have a 7 year old who wants to play in the garden! There was a sign next to the bin in the cottage asking owners to clear up after their dogs and saying there had been previous complaints about the mess which suggests the property owner is aware of the issue.
Whilst I accept that some dog owners are irresponsible in my view it should be the responsibility of the property owner to ensure it is fit for habitation both inside and out before the next guests arrive. Clearly this doesn't happen given the sheer volume of dog mess I cleared (3 carrier bags worth). If the property owner is unwilling or unable to clear up maybe they should re-evaluate whether they allow dogs to stay in the future.
It's a shame as the location and cottage itself were nice but the dog mess would put me off staying again.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience that you had during your stay. I have now replaced the sofa. Regarding the dog mess I have now placed a bin with bags, for the convenience of my guests. I appreciate your positive comments as well.
Thank you.
