  • "The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the owners were really welcoming and helpful."

The cottage was well equipped for our stay with all the kitchen equipment we required. The beds were comfortable as was the seating area. The whole cottage was lovely and warm. A few reviews said the road was noisy but we didn't find this a problem at all. The hot tub was a real bonus after having being out walking all day. There were lots of lovely walks in the area and we found a few nice outside along the way. A really relaxing, enjoyable weekend.

The hosts were very helpful. The hot tub was great, and the accommodation was lovely for a family break, but the interior is a bit dated. The gated entrance to the driveway is tight. If you drive a big car like an SUV or a family car - it is best to drive in and reverse out.

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated. The gate way gets easier with practice, so hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "This is a nice cottage but there were a lot of cobwebs and spiders inside."

The hot tub didn't look clean and there were numerous dead bugs floating around in it which was very off putting. The place would be tight for four guests as the second room has a small double bed which wouldn't be ideal for 2 adults. If you're staying please take extra towels for the hot tub. On the plus side, the owners were friendly, milk, water, tea and coffee was provided and there were some thoughtful gestures such as guest book detailing local walks, restaurants and places of interest.

  • "We had an enjoyable stay at Bramble Grange over the Coronation weekend."

A nice welcome pack on arrival was greatly appreciated as was the information folder in the cottage. Plenty to do and see in the local area. Though located next to a main road the traffic noise mentioned in previous customer feedback was not an issue to us. The hot tub was clean, relaxing and a nice temperature. The only suggestion would be a pergola type construction with a perspex roof so that the hot tub could still be enjoyed even when the 'good old British weather' turns a little murky. You will not be disappointed with your stay at Bramble Grange and we plan to return in the not too distant.

So glad you enjoyed it, look forward to seeing you again. All the best. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely property, great little extras like the milk, drinks, dvds and books that made us feel welcome."

A clean and well presented space. The hot tub was a lovely bonus that we used daily and really made the stay. It has everything 2-4 people could need to enjoy a stay with loads of places nearby to visit and convenient takeaway and local Co-Op you can walk to as well. The garden in particular I imagine is stunning in summer. The only issue (and one that cannot be changed or helped) is the noise from the road next to the property. I am a heavy sleeper so this did not bother me but may be a consideration for light sleepers looking at staying. The bathroom door handle also needs looking at as it get stuck and is really hard to turn (it will turn but may take a few attempts). Overall though it is great value for all that you get and I would stay again.

Only small issues could be fixed, updated. I would have got rid of mismatching cutlery, add an extra dinner sets. Small details in the grand scheme of things. The good things are everything else, space inside and out. location, hosts helped out when needed and full of knowledge, Nikkie couldn't do enough and filled o Internet gap while they were changing suppliers. The surroundings amazing, out in the countryside, Less than an hour from larger towns, even closer to local shops. I would without a doubt return to Bramble cottage, it's far enough away for peice and quiet, (apart from road noise when outside). The hot tub is big enough for 4, lovely quiet summer house, comfortable seatng inside, bed rooms not to big, but big enough for purpose, which is for 4 people. So, here is where I can say a big thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage, good luck for the future and hopefully, fingers crossed we would love to return.

Everything was lovely and the owners were very helpful with brilliant communication. Although the property only had onsite space for one car, we were able to park additional cars on the road less than 1 minute walk away. The hot tub and summer house were also well maintained and a lovely addition to the property Other reviews have mentioned road noise, which there was a small amount of, but it wasn't ever a problem to us and it is to be expected as it is located on an A road. There is a Co op and a pub within walking distance. Also there is a takeaway and a fish shop. Details of places to eat are in the pack of information. The road has been mentioned by other reviews, but it was not a problem for us. You can hear it outside, but when the hot tub is on, its not really noticeable. We had no issues whilst there so only saw Nicky again when we were leaving. Although there is some noise from the road, when in the hot tub you can't really hear this. Also when inside you cannot hear any traffic noise due to the double (or maybe triple?) glazing. .. it was booked for a birthday celebration and chosen due to it having a hot tub. My daughters were very excited! Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t available on the first night as they had changed the water from the last visitors and said it would still be cold. I understand that during COVID-19 extra precautions are needed but perhaps they should leave a day between each booking so the hot tub is available? They did kindly offer to let us use their hot tub which is located outside their house but it didn’t feel private and we felt awkward about using it. The second issue was the duvets on the beds. They are made of plastic and presumably there Incase visitors wet the bed. They are incredibly hot and slide down to the end of the covers in a big lump! We all slept badly on night 1 and in the morning I removed them from the covers and we slept just with sheets over us on night 2. Had I known, I would’ve brought our own duvets and would do so if we returned. Other than that we had an enjoyable stay. It has a lovely courtyard style garden which makes for a very relaxing area on a nice weather day. The little summer house is also cute and a nice addition. We ate our evening meal here. The cottage is well equipped and cosy. The host is lovely and very welcoming x

We were woken up by this on both days. The hot tub is directly next to the main road and the traffic is so loud we were unable to hear our friends when we face timed them. Most uncomfortable beds I've ever had whilst staying away, plus they were also the smallest double beds I've ever seen.

  • "Cottage was very nice and clean."

The only reason we booked though was for the hot tub, which was massively disappointing. Was told it was checked and maintained daily on arrival but on the second day in it there was a lot of brown scum and black hairs floating to the top when the bubbles were turned on, nobody in our family has black hair and we certainly aren't unclean and had showered beforehand. On the 3rd day my wife had planned her day around relaxing in the hot tub but when she went to use it and opened the lid it hadn't been cleaned, the water was green and it smelt terribly (like cabbage) and so was totally unusable. She knocked on the door of the owners but there was nobody in so she called the mobile number supplied to us and there was no answer, so she left a voicemail message. The call wasn't returned so she sent a text to the same number letting them know of the issue but there was no reply at all from the owners so she went out for the day instead. The next morning was check-out. I had a look at the hot tub and it was still in the same condition as the previous day. When handing the key over to the owner, she said that her husband had replied to the text saying that we could use their own hot tub. Neither my wife or I received this text message nor a phone call back regarding this. It wouldn't have been an option anyway due to the lack of privacy. She said that the hot tub should be self cleaning and asked if we had showered before using it or had creams on us that could have caused the issue. It was October so we definitely haven't used any sun creams, plus we have used hot tubs many times and have never experienced this issue before so it was definitely not down to us. Unfortunately, this issue ruined the stay so we wouldn't return. Regards Matthew Mitchell

It is a beautiful place with a cozy relaxing atmosphere. Hot tub is always a nice bonus to relax in the evening and even being next to a main road never had any problems with noise on a night time. Owners very friendly and helpful, showed us round and then left us to settle in.There was plenty of things to do around us as we had a trip round burton brewery and trip to Twycross zoo which was only a 10min journey. Went bit extra out to the heights of Abraham which was a fantastic day with views. Last time we went in the summer which was great as lots of seating outside in its own little sun trap with a summer house as well, this time of the year we could watch sun going down from hot tub in early evening. There was a file full of touristy things to do which we found really helpful! Only tiny down side was the bed covers. Plastic duvets which rustled everytime you moved and got wrapped up in. The main thing what annoyed me is the fact that you advertise that there is a gym with this cottage, yet when we got there and asked about it I was told that the facilities were broken and awaiting to be fixed by sykes... I wasn't prewarned about this and I had prepared myself to work out while I was there. I believe this to be false advertising and that we should be entitled to some sort of compensation. Apart from this, I couldn't fault the hosts. They were very welcoming and practically didn't exist between saying hello and goodbye, they made it feel very private. Saying this they did let us know that they would be available if we needed any assistance with anything. Also, it was really nice to chill in the tub despite being right next to a busy main road but we did look this up and expected it.

We wanted the cottage for a relaxing weekend of hot tubs, box sets on our now TV box that we took as the property had wifi and to make use of the gym facilities... the wifi didnt work for streaming or sending of messages even though it had a minimum of 1 bar signal. The cottage could use some blinds for privacy as we had to keep all curtains drawn. Sykes have this cottage down as a 2 bathroom, the cottage has one. When we asked the host where the gym was we were advised that Sykes had been asked to remove the gym as it had been removed due to damaged equipment.
