  • "Great base for exploring the Peak District Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Alton Towers."

Comfortable house in a lovely village with a good pub. Great for a family get together. Lovely enclosed garden. Friendly and helpful owner.

  • "It was an amazing stay!"

The cottage had a very cosy feel to it, and all the basics we needed. There was plenty of crockery! We had lovely weather for the barbeque. All of the bedrooms were great! There were lots of leaflets on local days out (if you hadn't planned before coming). Lots of small bits and pieces that really make you feel welcome! I'd highly recommend this as a place to stay! The only minor drawback, was the WIFI not quite reaching the room with the king size bed (with the en suite). Didn't have a mobile network connection from there either (on Three's network).

  • "We all had a fabulous time at the cottage."

The weather was amazing so we sat in the garden most of the time. The kids enjoyed the games room pool and mini snooker, the cottage had everything you needed we couldn't fault a thing. The owner and her daughter we excellent nothing was too much trouble I would recommend Orchard Cottage to anyone without hesitation. We loved Parwich and the local pub The Sycamore Inn served the best Sunday lunch we've had in a long time.

. Comfortable , everything you could possibly need for a lovely stay in this sleepy little unspoilt village .. I would come back again and again but not through Sykes, only through the owner , I found them totally unhelpful and unreasonable.. we personally spoke to the lady who owned it who couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating, but as we had booked through Sykes it was them we had to deal with … never again we will be booking a cottage through them .. you will receive a. E. Mail regarding our complaint with how you handled our booking ….

  • "Despite awful weather we had a fabulous time at Orchard View."

The cottage is warm and very comfortable with everything we needed. The owners were extremely helpful coming out at very short notice in wild weather to deliver more logs for the wood burner. Parwich is a beautiful village with an excellent pub serving delicious high quality food. Despite the weather we were still able to enjoy the walking straight from the cottage to Bassington and Tissington. We highly recommend Orchard View for a family meet up in the Peak District.

The weather was cold and wet but the woodburner and the company made up for that. All the comforts of home. Even though the parking is limited we managed to get all 3 cars safely parked. A lovely house in a lovely place with a great pub 5 mins away. Bliss

  • "The owner, Phyllis gave us a warm welcome to the cottage and assured us she was available if we had any problems."

Our first impression of the cottage was that it was a little tired and dated. However it was a good size and as a party of 6 adults we found it very spacious with excellent wifi. Beds were very comfy and the heating and hot water system was excellent. Parwich is a lovely village, well worth a visit and the local pub was very welcoming. Overall we all felt the cottage would benefit from some updating but we enjoyed our week and would recommend Orchard View.

There was no itineray left only a small piece of paper stuck to the inside of a kitchen cupboard letting you know where doctors, vets, shop and the opening times for the local pub were as the shop was in the pub so if you didnt open this door then you wouldnt know also a note to say you had to pay for any breakages.

Excellent for walks and in particularly dogs, small playing fields less than a minute from the property for those who don’t want to venture to far. Luckily the weather was amazing so we took advantage of the local walks. Parking was limited at the property (2 cars max) but again the playing fields had amply parking for the rest of our party to park.

The knives & kitchen equipment were a little old & blunt. We had to buy a new tin opener as the old one broke. There were only small towels left for us all & only one for the week. No spare bed linen even though children were staying. No welcome notes for recycling/bins/recommendations for the area. Although owner came to explain to us when we first arrived. The photographs were deceptive & made the property appear much bigger than it was in reality. Having said all of that it was clean, comfortable & in a beautiful location.
