Just 6.5 miles away is the village of Ashover in the Amber Valley. The village has several good pubs, including the Crispin Inn, renowned as one of the oldest pubs in the Peak District and The Old Poets’ Corner which offers home-brewed Ashover ales. A little further on, Matlock offers a host of fine eateries and shops and you can enjoy a thrilling day at Gulliver's Kingdom, with its water gardens, nature trails, exhilarating rides and cable car trips over the magnificent Matlock Gorge.
