  • "Stables Cottage is the best Cottage I have ever stayed in."

The owners have used high quality furniture and left some of the original features. The advantage of a washing machine and dishwasher is a huge bonus. I would fully recommend this cottage, you won't be disappointed.

Property was immaculate, well equipped and the owners were extremely helpful with advice on the area or if there were any issues. A very relaxing stay!

  • "Had a really enjoyable weeks stay at The Stables."

The quality of the building, fixtures, fittings and location were 5* We had not stayed in this area before and it was great to see some new National Trust properties and revisit some favorites such as the Monsal and Tissington Trails. The view from the Stables was amazing, although appearing to be rural the accommodation had good access to A roads so we were able to get to our destinations quickly. Will definitely be back at some point.

  • "Beautiful cottage - by far the best cottage we have stayed in, done to a very high standard."

Very clean and comfortable. Only criticism - being unable to adjust the heating on the ground floor when chilly, and the addition of a mirror in the bedrooms would be helpful. Well situated for visiting the Peak District. Definitely recommend staying here and look forward to returning when the remaining barn is converted!

  • "Lovely cottage, very modern and excellently maintained."

Just about everything is provided. Lovely views over the countryside to Weaver Hills and there are several walks from the cottage. Also a lot of places to visit within a short drive. We briefly met Sue and her husband who seemed very nice, caring people. A couple of very small things that would have made it even better:- My wife would have liked a mirror near to a three pin socket in the smaller bedroom to help her dry her hair. A kitchen bin for recycling items would be useful and you need to be careful with the hot water coming out of the kitchen tap. It comes out either lukewarm or roastingly hot whilst the tap is in the same position, it's down to these modern boilers!!!

Only one small window in bedroom and no window in bathroom and no way to open skylight window. No control for downstairs heating when required . Poor WiFi connection

  • "Our stay on the Stables was excellent, our only regret was not booking for a longer."

The pictures don't do it justice, the cottage was outstanding, it was exactly what we wanted for our 3 night break. It's location is great if you want to visit Alton Towers (5 mins away). It was clean, tidy and a perfect find. Thank you to the owners for an amazing stay.

  • "The cottage is far by the best we’ve ever stayed in."

Contemporary finish and clean. You can immediately see how much time, effort and money has been spent renovating the barn conversion. We will definitely book again. The owners are approachable and friendly. If you’re after a perfect break with lovely scenery and comfortable accommodation, this has it all if not more!. Cleaning products were supplied along with a Dyson hoover, iron, dishwasher and washing machine. The bed linen and towels were fresh and had a lovely scent. We felt as though we were at home. It was a vacation from home to home. Thank you to the owners for making my family’s weekend the best they’ve had since lockdown.

Very clean and well looked after cottage, only improvement I would suggest would be an upgrade to the TV as it was a bit dated lacking smart TV functionality however not the end of the world as there was still plenty other things to keep busy with. Would definitely recommend.

  • "This is a great place to stay."

The Stables was very clean, warm and comfortable with a super king size bed. The owners made us feel very welcome and gave us some good tips for places to visit. It was a fantastic area for walking and cycling and we could have easily filled another week with things to do. A large car park and somewhere to store the bikes was very useful. We would be very happy to return here in the future.

  • "As a family of four, we had a great ‘4 day break’ away at the Stables at Ramshorn."

The barn conversion was spotless and we felt very confident in the COVID precautions that had so obviously been considered. The owners were very friendly and unobtrusive, thank you for your hospitality! The cottage had all amenities we could want; two bathrooms was a bonus in a property of this size. We would highly recommend the Star Inn at Cotton village; friendly staff and lovely food! Local walking was enjoyable but not easy to find a circular walk from the cottage door ... we drove instead to Ilam and Dovedale for some fabulous local walking trails.

Provided us with all the essentials and gear for our toddler which saved us packing everything. I appreciate how worried some people are by staying places at the moment with the covid situation but no need to worry about visiting here, the cottage was impeccably clean and made us feel very safe. Stunning views and several beautiful walks just minutes away. The owners made us feel very welcome and we’re there for us if we needed anything. Will definitely be returning, thank you for our stay.

  • "Had a really lovely stay over the weekend."

The property is fantastic and really suited what we were after. Having two separate bathrooms was a huge bonus! The property and the grounds are very well kept, with cleanliness to the highest level. Very impressed by the speediness of the owners when we realised there were no towels in the second bedroom. Within 30 mins they had appeared! The only let down was the 9am check out time, just that bit too early when trying to make the most of the weekend! But all in all a fantastic property and I'd thoroughly recommend to others. PS on the directions given by Sykes this does not take you to the property (a mileage error) use the postcode!
