  • "Cottage was in a beautiful setting and great base for walking/touring."

Christine was a lovely host. The cottage was spotlessly clean and it had everything that we needed. I would return and recommend it.

The cottage was very comfortable and cosy. It was situated in a lovely area, with walks from the door and a friendly local pub serving good food. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay.

The cottage was a lovely place to stay and the place is very dog friendly.

  • "Lovely modern cosy cottage set in a beautiful location surrounded my hills and trees, close to amenities and gorgeous Whitworth park for daily walks with the dog!"

Wood burner was an added treat for the colder nights. Hosts were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage! Hope to stay here again soon. :)

  • "A lovely small cottage in quiet surroundings."

The cottage is well set out downstairs and well resourced. It was comfortable and cosy. The bedrooms were simple and uncluttered and provided a good nights sleep. The cottage was clean, fresh, light and airy. It has a super downstairs bathroom with a large double shower. The sloping garden has a seating area at the top and bottom levels. It has a lovely sun trap at the top of the garden. It is very dog friendly and the hosts provided a welcome gift for both us and the dog. The hosts were great and really friendly and kind. They were helpful without being intrusive. I would really recommend the cottage. As with cottages of this style and age, people need to be aware that the stairs might cause difficulties for people with mobility issues. It is not a criticism of the cottage that I would happily stay in again as it has a homely, contemporary feel and is well situated.

The double bed could have been bigger , the room could take it. The Garden was lovely and we really enjoyed using it.

  • "The cottage was a great place for us to base ourselves near the Peak District and a lovely space to relax in."

As described in the listing - slightly better even, as the garden was bigger than expected and fully-enclosed, so perfect for our dog. Plus the cottage is on a smaller side road, so quiet and easy to park outside. Chris was really welcoming and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • "Lovely cottage in a quiet location."

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Central for great walks or visit nearby villages and towns. Lovely quiet pub within a minute walk and another larger, 10 minutes walk away. Highly recommend and will return.

  • "This is a lovely cottage."

Clean and fresh looking inside. Comfortable for sitting and sleeping. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of space for cooking and eating. Nice little garden which gets the sun and has decent garden furniture. On a small side road away from the traffic, so fairly quiet. A few metres away from a friendly pub. The people responsible for the cottage live a few doors away, so if there were problems (which there weren't!) I guess they would be easy to resolve. The only thing which could be difficult for some people is that the stairs are steep and narrow, and the bathroom is downstairs.

  • "This cottage was fabulous."

It is in a brilliant location very close to Matlock and Bakewell so plenty of places to visit despite covid. Cottage is well equipped and cosy, lovely and warm without having to use the lovely log burner. Short walk to local coop and to the Barrington pub that serves delicious food at decent prices and is dog friendly. Chris and Ray who were our hosts, were lovely always on hand if you needed anything or any advice. A real little gem. We will definitely be back.

  • "Absolutely loved our second stay at this cottage."

Its so beautiful and peaceful and the fire stove is always a treat to relax in front of. It's location means it isn't far to get to Matlock and a Co op is just 3 minutes drive away. There is a fanatic woodland walk just 10 minutes walk away, though it is quite steep! At nearly 8 months pregnant I did have to pause a few times, all the better to enjoy the views! The cottage is tastefully decorated and has everything you could need. We especially like the extra touch of leaving doggie treats for our furry friend!

Modernised but without spoiling the charm, just added to the comfort. The location was good and so close to many attractions. A lovely holiday, thoroughly enjoyed.

Very well equipped too. The cottage is in a great location too, not far from Bakewell, Chatsworth and of course Matlock and Matlock bath just down the road. We had a lovely welcome from Christine the owners Mum which was lovely. Definitely recommend 3 brookside cottages, we really enjoyed our stay and we’re hoping to return in the near future.

  • "The cottage was gorgeous and very cosy with a lovely garden for my dog."

I had everything I needed there for my holiday and I've never slept so well as the bed was supremely comfy. Darley Dale is a very pretty village with a fabulous Victorian style park, a co op, local butchers and fish and chip shop and deli. The parents of the owner only live a few houses away and were extremely welcoming and friendly and I spent a lovely evening with them in the local pub right opposite the cottage. I had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning there in the not too distant future!

  • "A lovely and comfortable cottage in a beautiful area of the Peak District."

Close by Darley Dale and its amenities but handy for walking trails. The Village of Two Dale's itself is picturesque and has a good local pub and very friendly locals. The location is ideal for touring the area as well as having a natural charm and beauty of its own. We received a warm welcome on arrival and found the permanent neighbours to be very friendly and helpful. The cottage is charming and comfortable and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would happily go back again. I would recommend staying here.

Hosts were fabulous and nothing was too much for them! Cottage itself was perfect for us, it was beautiful and spotlessly clean! Wine and dog biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch! Had an incident with some damage at the cottage whilst we was there due to an accident and informed the owners they were brilliant and got it sorted immediately and made up feel better as we were mortified! Thanks so much for everything! We will definitely return!!! Had some lovely days out in the area too but the cottage itself was the best part!

  • "Really liked the Village of Two Dales and the community atmosphere."

Picked a good week with the World Cup and the Village Fete. The cottage was much more characterful than the photo suggested. I was surprised and pleased to find it was not situated on a main road. Also as the property had not been let for very long everything felt as if it was brand new.

  • "Although the cottage itself is clean and comfortable, it is only yards from a very busy road, with cars flying up and down very fast all the time, creating a lot of noise."

Because of this it is also very difficult to get out of the road end safely. The village of Two Dales is also extremely busy and not for someone looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway. Being an old cottage, the stairs are extremely steep and would not be suitable for anyone a bit unsteady on their legs.
