The property

Within two miles of Chatsworth House, nestled at the heart of the enchanting Derbyshire countryside, amidst the delights of the pretty village of Rowsley is Lees Moor Cottage.

This traditional terrace cottage offers a wonderful base for families to explore all that the Peak District has to offer, ranging quaint towns and villages, interesting walks and historical landmarks.

Retaining a wealth of original features, the sitting room boasts exposed beams and a woodburning stove taking centre stage before the Smart TV and the plush sofas.

Beyond here is the kitchen, where you can make use of the triple electric oven, microwave and fridge/freezer to cater delicious home-cooked meals.

Once dinner is cooked, head to the dining room to enjoy quality time with your family and to plan the next day’s adventure.

Head upstairs, where you can look forward to resting within one of the superbly appointed bedrooms or indulging with a soak in the freestanding bath with a glass of something chilled in hand.

Unpack your belongings in the provided chest of draws before falling asleep in either the double bedroom or the twin bedroom.

During a balmy afternoon, make use of the front garden, relaxing on the bench seating before lighting up the barbecue to cook up a storm.

To the rear of the property, you will find off-road parking for your car, as well as an external utility housing a tumble dryer.

Paces away from the cottage are a number of quaint and quirky pubs, which are awaiting to be enjoyed if you do not feel like cooking one evening, as well as an old-fashioned sweet shop and ice cream parlour for those special treats.

About the location

ROWSLEY

Bakewell 3 miles; Matlock 5 miles.

The pretty village of Rowsley is situated just at the south of stately Chatsworth - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and a stone’s throw from the impressive tudor-built Haddon Hall. This little village has many attractions, including Caldwell's Mill which houses the last water-powered roller flour mill and a range of craft workshops, shops and a restaurant, Peak Rail, which is a rail enthusiasts dream with rides along the valley, and the Peak Village which has many outlet shops with bargains galore together with feature attractions, a fitness centre and an old fashioned sweet shop and ice cream parlour. Rowsley offers a range of village amenities including shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants, excellent fly fishing facilities (day tickets available from the historic Peacock Hotel) and neighbouring the village is the superb Michelin-starred East Lodge Hotel and Restaurant. The village is also a hub for walkers and cyclists with many picturesque Peak District trails being accessible including the Derwent Valley cycle way, the Monsal Trail and the Rowsley Bar Hill Climb. Close by is Bakewell, capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. This picturesque town is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and further attractions in the area include Gulliver's Kingdom, the shops and eateries of Matlock Bath, and Alton Towers, also within easy touring distance, making the location ideal for the whole family to enjoy.
