The property

Settled into the village of Sandiway, Cheshire, is the wonderful Gables Cottage, ideal for a family or group of friends looking to explore Cheshire and North Wales.

Park off-road either to the front or rear of the property, both locations having parking for one car, and unpack into this lovely semi-detached property.

The living area is spacious and airy, with loads of amenities making it a real home-from-home, beginning in a sitting area with dark blue walls and large bay windows allowing in seas of light, as well as a dining area for guests to enjoy.

Cook up a storm in the kitchen, and you can also dine alfresco in the front or rear garden in the warmer months.

The property has two well-presented bedrooms, each with storage and access to a bathroom where you can take a quick shower or a relaxing bath amongst the bubbles, and there is the added bonus of a dressing room for guests to use.

Sandiway is a lovely village with a shop, local pub and a selection of eateries for when you don’t feel like cooking.

Take a day trip to Beeston Castle, delight in a sweet treat at Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, test out your obstacle course skills at Wildshore Aqua Park or try something different at Peckforton Castle with a Land Rover Experience, sure to excite any car lovers amongst your group!

Further from the property you will find the wonderful Delamere Forest, where there is a visitors’ centre, a quaint station café and outdoor activities such as Go Ape, or you can simply enjoy a stroll amongst the wildlife and take in the countryside air at Dutton Locks.

There are many activities to keep you entertained, including the Crocky Trail, Gulliver’s World Theme Park and Tatton Park, and if you travel a little further you will find the stunning historic city of Chester where there are loads of shops, tasty eateries, and historic sites such as the Amphitheatre to be explored.

From here, visit Chester Zoo or head a little further to enjoy a day spent on the coast of North Wales.

SANDIWAY

Northwich 4 miles; Chester 14 miles.

Sandiway along with its twin village of Cuddington officially became one village in 1935. Sandiway has shops, a Post Office, pubs, a number of churches and a railway station. On the edge of the village is Sandiway Golf Club, and close by is Blakemere Shopping Village with its antique emporium, independent shops and activities, such as Segway. Within reach is Oulton Park racing circuit which hosts many events throughout the year, and just four miles away is the former salt mining town of Northwich with its thrice weekly street market and monthly artisan and farmers' market, Victorian black and white buildings, the popular Salt Museum and pedestrianised shopping area. Also on the edge of Northwich is the Anderton Nature Park which is home to the famous Anderton Boat Lift connecting the Trent and Mersey canal to the Weaver through a working 50ft lift dating back to 1875. Within driving distance are a host of attractions, such as the historic city of Chester, Delamere Forest, Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village, National Trust properties, including Tatton Park, Dunham Massey, Quarry Bank and Speke Hall, Trafford Centre, golf courses on the Wirral, North Wales beaches, and the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Sandiway is an ideal base for exploring this part of the North West of England.
