  • "The house is in a great location for exploring the Peak District, we had a nice walk to Solomon's Temple from the house and drove to other areas."

The hot tub was nice to relax in after walking. The house was as described, slept well in the comfy beds. Was clean and tidy on arrival, met the host who was friendly. Good parking for two large cars and enclosed garden for the dogs. Will definitely return in future.

  • "The house was lovely."

But I was misled by the listing of 3 bathrooms when in fact it’s one bathroom, 1 en-suite and 1 downstairs loo. Eberything else was wonderful and will certainly book again.

  • "Absolutely stunning place to stay, that had everything we needed for a fabulous family get away."

The scenery is beautiful, and the garden lovely, we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub looking up at the stars at night. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Property was lovely and modern and provided all the facilities needed for a self catering break, the location was convenient for the centre of Buxton a 5 minute drive or 30 min walk, lovely countryside views from the property and very peaceful."

We thoroughly enjoyed using the hot tub as a family and although there was a very small issue on arrival with the hot tub this was dealt with by the owner Alex very promptly and did not affect our enjoyment of the break away at all. You can really tell that a lot of thought has gone into the guests comfort at this holiday property, its a credit to the owners. Thank you for a lovely weekend in Buxton, lots of family memories made!

  • "Great property- 7 of us, plus dog, stayed for half term week."

The house is well thought out - amazing kitchen, cosy lounge, 2 small doubles (one on ground floor)& 2 king size rooms on the top floor. The bathrooms were very nice. Hot tub was wonderful. We adored the area - the views are fabulous. We went to Alton Towers, Emma Bridgewater factory, Ashbourne town, Leek and Whaley Bridge. There is so much to do.

  • "Absolutely loved this property!"

The second we opened the front door it felt like home. It was clean, tidy, bright and perfectly laid out. We spent 90% of the time in the kitchen and the hot tub as it was the favourite part of the house. The living room was a beautiful little snug overlooking the hills of sheep. Very quiet little neighbourhood with so much around to see and do!! The only ever so slight down side if I had to say were the beds could be slightly more comfy. But that aside we are deffo planning on returning! Thankyou so much xxx

Clean and well equipped. 2 families stayed together, plenty of space and the hot tub was a winner.

  • "Location and cleanliness of the Accomodation was fine, as expected."

As this was a new build, would have expected the door handle in the main open plan kitchen not to have fallen off a number of times during the stay, there were only 50% of the required screws in the handle. Also, as listing is for a hot tub cottage I would have expected the water quality, temperature and level to be correct and maintained before our stay. The water level was so low there was an error message on the display & a film on the water meaning we couldn’t use, as a regular hot tub user this hadn’t been maintained for a number of months looking at the film on the water and colour of the filter! While using the outside space it was evident there was a wasp nest in the shed right by the seating area making this hardly usable despite the good weather. Finally, as the caretaker explained, the current building regulations mean that all windows must be escape windows which would have been fine had they been fitted with safety latches which they were not and therefore dangerous for our children of 7&8 in a three storey house. Overall a very disappointing stay due to some basic failings!

The property

Perched on the outskirts of Buxton, Derbyshire, lies this fabulous, three-storey holiday home, Cheshire View.

With access to a private hot tub and enclosed garden, and great positioning to nearby attractions, this contemporary property is perfect for large families and makes a wonderful base for exploring Buxton and the surrounding Peak District National Park.

Inside, be charmed by the tastefully-decorated, contemporary interior, the quality of which is on full display in the well-appointed, amply-equipped kitchen/diner, where a huge dining island takes centre stage, serving as the social hub of the house where the whole group can prepare and enjoy tasty meals whilst catching up on the day's events.

If you'd prefer an alfresco affair, set the patio furniture and make use of your outdoor space, before enjoying an indulgent soak in the hot tub.

When the evening grows darker, retreat to one of four well-presented bedrooms, one of which features a plush king-size bed and accompanying en-suite shower room, the perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate as the night draws to a close.

If you fancy getting to know the local area, make the short trip to the nearby Old Club House for a pint, or perhaps book a table at The Tasting Rooms if a break from cooking is required one evening.

On your way out of Buxton, be sure to spend time at the Chee Dale riverside trail on your journey to the village of Tideswell, where you can refill your energy stores at The Merchant's Yard once you're finished hiking.

For those history enthusiasts of the group, the market town of Bakewell is a worthwhile destination, home to the landmark spot of Bakewell Bridge, as well as the surrounding Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House.

Further afield is Matlock, where you can spend a whole day enjoying attractions such as Lumsdale Waterfall, the Peak District Mining Museum, and the Heights of Abraham cable car cavern tours.

All of this and more awaits during a stay at Cheshire View.

About the location

BUXTON

Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
