  • "This was the most beautiful property that we have ever stayed in."

It was spacious, comfortable and well outfitted with all the necessary amenities, accessories and equipment for the kitchen and bathroom and for the whole flat in general. The art work throughout the property was a delight and added a further dimension to this wonderful flat. With easy walking distance to pubs, shops and restaurants it was a joy to stay here, We will be back!

  • "Minor problems with blind chains in bedroom 2 and bathroom."

3 of us in property none of us could figure out how tv worked.

es, I agree, the connecting links on the chains for the blinds most tedious as they separate very easily, but due to a change in the law and health and safety regulations all properties are now required to use the chain link on any new blinds being fitted into properties. Digital TVs can also be tiresome.... I fear the last guest left the screen with all menu offerings shown, so it would have been a matter of navigating the cursor onto the aerial icon (or whichever service required), then clicking on it with the button surrounded by the arrow buttons, to tune into a particular service. I am sorry that you didn't give me a call when you encountered this problem and I could have come to help. Hopefully the rest of the experience in the flat and in Buxton was enjoyable. • "The property was fully equipped with anything you are likely to need, and more, the furnishings very good and comfortable and the tapestries were unbelievable."

Close to amenities, a few minutes from Poole’s Cavern - recommended as a place to visit and the cafe was very accommodating for those needing gluten free snacks. Solomon’s Temple is a bit further but worth a visit. We would highly recommend staying at this property.

Fabulously comfortable bed. Cupboard stocked with a variety of teas and coffees, milk, cooking oil etc. Art work on walls fascinating. A very helpful host. A beautiful place to have as our base. Situated near the gardens and the country park.

About the location

BUXTON

Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
