The owner lives nearby and was very helpful and knowledgeable about the property and the local area. The apartment had everything we could need and was very clean and comfortable. The pool table was a fun addition and the front windows were great for people watching, especially being on the first floor! It is centrally located for all things Peak District, the parking space is fabulous and we thoroughly recommend the Crows Nest to all.

  • "A lovely flat in the centre of Buxton."

Location very close to restaurants and bars. Very elegantly decorated. Lots of space. The kitchen was very well equipped but we didn't cook much. Loved the American fridge with the ice maker. Lots of storage in the main bedroom, bed comfy. Ensuite and shower fine. We didn't use the second bedroom or the main bathroom. Sadly the pool table remained unloved and ignored. If we returned we would defo stay again.

  • "The flat is in a superb location and was generally clean and tidy."

There were a few mugs that had been put away dirty and the towels were rather smelly unfortunately as they hadn't dried properly after washing but overall it was clean. The kitchen is excellent - everything we could have needed and the living area really wonderful. The shower room however was not that good, The shower didn't get hot enough really, even after all instructions were followed and the shower tray filled up with cold water so you were showering with cold feet! The second bathroom is a bath with a shower fixture but no curtain so you can't really shower there. Howard the owner is great and very accommodating - I would just manage expectations around the bathrooms a little better. But overall its a great place to stay!

  • "We really loved this apartment."

One of the best we've stayed in. Really comfortable and great for relaxing in after a long day exploring. Premium location in Buxton - walking distance to all amenities, sights and railway station Guaranteed parking space for one car. Even though it is located centrally it is very quiet. We'd highly recommend to anyone choosing to stay in Buxton.

  • "Wonderful place to stay."

The Apartment was beautiful, spotless and had everything required to make the stay enjoyable. The addition of the pool table was a bonus (we had some rain so decided to stay in one of the days) and gives you something to do if not going out. The only negative (and it is a very tiny negative) is that I had to agree with a previous review that the two-seater settee could do with replacing.

  • "The noise from the flat above was intolerable."

We are sorry to hear of your complaint regarding the noise... the flat does comply to building regulations and this is the only comment in the last 2years of holiday letting that we have had in relation to this matter. Kind Regards Crows Nest Property Owner

The apartment was very spacious, comfortable and included off road parking for one car which was a bonus being in the town centre. The owner was pleasant and helpful and left milk, biscuits and wine. We strongly recommend the Greek Restaurant next door.

  • "Had a wonderful time."

The only thing to change is the two seater sofa, it was too low and the firmness had gone, the three seater sofa was not far behind. But it had everything you could need, and was in a wonderful central position I would definitely go again.

About the location

BUXTON

Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
