  • "Very homely comfortable, cottage which had everything we needed to live home from home for a week."

Unlike a lot of guests, we cook meals on holiday, as we would at home, and found all the pots, pans and pirex dishes we needed. Wonderful area to stay in, beautiful places on the doorstep. We were there in the recent heatwave and the cottage, with its thick stone walls, remained coolish with curtains and windows closed!!!

  • "A lovely quaint property, The owner has the foresight to supply plenty of info , and guides for walkers and sightseeing."

We were on a budget so did not eat out in the various Pubs. We treated ourselves to fish and chips from the top chippy Elliots which is all freshly fried , the other Chippy require a lesson in Customer Service ! It would of been nice to have a larger freezer compartment, as we had stocked up on a few items . Tv channels very limited for evening viewing Heating is excellent but hard to control ! But lovely and warm ! We loved the Property and found it very good value for money it's a lovely village with plenty of pubs Chip shops and bakers and more . Would gladly stay again !

  • "Super cosy cottage, suited us perfectly."

The location of the cottage in Tideswell village was ideal for the various walks we did with our 1 year old minpin - we particularly love Chee Dale walk (just few minutes away). We also took full advantage of the Star Inn for three meals (it was top of trip advisor for Peak District). Very convenient coop and other shops. Also visited the 'cathedral of the Peak District'.

  • "Lovely holiday house with local facilities close by."

Dog friendly pub opposite, serving good food. Had no problem parking nearby. House was very clean, bed comfortable. Stairs ( landing 1/2 way ), easy to use ( handrails ), slip mat and handles on bath. Rear door on level with street, a few steps up to front door. Dogs are not allowed upstairs, but the stairs lead up directly from the kitchen ( no gate ). Reluctant to leave ours alone in the living room all night ( soft furnishings, shut doors, ), so this may cause a problem for some owners. Overall, a delightful, comfortable, cosy 'home from home' that we would highly reccommend to all our friends.

  • "Cosy,comfortable house."

Suitable for 2 adults ( very cosy in living room/ dining room/kitchen for 4 adults). A big shout out to the cleaners as the house was spotless. There was no problem finding parking on the road side. As we needed the windows open, due to the very hot weather, the traffic noise was apparent. It was the odd large lorry rattling through the village which started at 4:15 am . This stopped around 7am and the village returned to norm. Lovely village with dog friendly cafe ( great breakfast menu), small co-op and friendly residents. The house is ideally placed for walks straight from the door or a short drive to the tourist villages of Castleton, Bakewell etc Overall the house was found to be as described, in a great location for visiting the Peak District and we would be very happy to return.

There were two bus companies connecting the village, so we were able to park our car and in fact only used it on the last two days as we wanted to go further afield. The village had plenty of amenities with cafes, butcher, baker, bookshop, bistro, deli, restaurant, three pubs. We were very happy with our choice.
