  • “Loved Barr cottage.”

Really homely and comfortable. The bed is super comfy and we had everything we needed and more. We were left a bottle of wine for our arrival and there was also tea and coffee in the kitchen and a pint of milk too. All really nice touches. The nearby pubs/restaurants are really nice too

The property

A charming mid-terrace cottage situated in the attractive Derbyshire village of Tideswell in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

This lovely cottage makes an ideal base for couples or small families visiting this stunning part of the Peak District.

On the first floor, there is a well-equipped modern kitchen with dining table, two beautifully decorated bedrooms with lovely views to the sheep pasture opposite, and a contemporary bathroom, all tastefully decorated to make your stay here as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

Down on the ground floor, the cosy sitting room features beams and a coal-effect fire, creating the perfect place to relax after an invigorating walk in the countryside or a day’s sightseeing.

Outside, you can enjoy the beautiful rear garden which is cut into the hillside.

Take a walk up the steps to the sunny terrace where you can enjoy alfresco dining and sit around the warmth of the chiminea as you take in the wonderful views over the historic town.

Tideswell is one of the most ancient settlements in the central Peak District.

The magnificent 14th century church is the main feature from the medieval era and is known locally as The Cathedral of the Park.
