Very clean and comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend Milford House if visiting Tideswell or the Peaks.

  • "The property is comfortable and well equipped, perfect for a family or 4/5 adults."

It is conveniently located in the village close to shops, pubs and restaurants. The information given prior to the visit was comprehensive. It would be helpful to warn visitors that the water is switched off between bookings. The owner answered our query promptly and the stay proceeded without any problems.

  • "Absolutely beautiful place to stay in a stunning village, like going back in time."

.just gorgeous. Everything was absolutely spotless and smelled fresh when we arrived to a heated cottage and beautiful cakes from the Cherry tree bakery next door. If we had to find one single gripe it would only be that it would be nice to have a warm rug in the lounge, as on a cold February morning on first waking it can feel a little bit chilly underfoot. Other than that we honestly cannot find anything else. Our weekend was perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Milford house in the future. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful accommodation.

The living room could really do with some table lamps or some standard lights as the overhead light is very harsh and doesn't help with reading or relaxing. The current table lamp is decorative rather than useful. We had a great time and love the area.

Definitely yes! Milford House is everything we wanted for a great holiday in the Peak District and worthy of 5 stars. It's nicely furnished and equipped, the second bathroom is a real plus. We're three friends meeting up a few times a year and Tideswell had plenty to offer, great countryside for walking and a good choice of places to eat and drink. Didn't use the car once during our stay, no need, Tideswell has it all.

  • "A lovely property."

Well loved reflected in both the internal and external presentation. Welcoming and well provided. We've racked our brains and our only suggestion is a long handled brush to make sweeping up easier on the back. Otherwise spot on. Great place for 5 adults to spend time in the Derbyshire Dales.

  • "This is a nice home with almost everything you need included."

There are a few little issues, all the beds come with just one pillow each, there really should be spare pillows available. The 3 beds we used were all incredibly hard and uncomfortable, we actually left a day early because we were all so tired from lack of sleep on the hard mattresses. The bedroom windows need blackout curtains as it gets very light in the rooms very early and the top floor bedroom has no coverings at all on the skylight windows. The worst complaint though is the two settees in the living room, they smell of sweat and people's body odour, really not nice.

We're so sorry that you found Milford House so uncomfortable that you cut your stay short. This is not the experience we want our guests to have. The beds all have mattress toppers to enhance comfort. As far as the windows are concerned the main bedroom has blackout blinds in addition to curtains. The single room has lined curtains. The Velux windows in the loft have integrated blinds. Unfortunately we have no control over the time that the sun rises! The complaint about the leather settees does concern me and we will be speaking to our cleaners to see what can be done about any unpleasant odours. Liz & Martin Milford House Property Owner

Parking was not a problem even though it was on a first come basis in front of the cottage. • "We had a lovely holiday, thank you."

It was a great location for a walking weekend with friends. Good access to local shops, pubs and cafes. We didn’t use the cooking facilities much or the dishwasher or washing machine. It would have been nice for everyone to be able to sit on chairs at the table rather than some having to sit on a bench and there weren’t enough bowls for all of us, but nothing serious. The large fridge was much appreciated as was the bottle of wine inside!

We're really please that you enjoyed your holiday in Tideswell and found Milford House such a convenient location. There are four dining chairs and having a bench to accommodate a party of five allows us to maximise space in the kitchen as it can be stored under the table when not in use. There are ten soup/cereal bowls. They are two different designs, six of one and four of the other. Property Owner
