  • "This property was perfect for our trip to the Peak District."

Good local food and easy access to lots of beautiful sights. The cottage had everything we needed and was lovely to sit by the fire after a long day of walking. Looking forward to staying again as soon as possible :)

  • "Absolutely charming cottage set in a beautiful village."

The cozy and warm cottage was immaculately presented and spotlessly clean with excellent amenities, Parking was a little tricky due to the narrow lane and stone walls impeding access but do-able with care!

  • "If you need peace and quiet then this is the one for you."

Due to it's location 10 minutes walk out of Hope, there's very little traffic. It's a great place to access many of the walks through the Hope Valley and the Cheshire Cheese pub and it's lovely ale is only 2 minutes away. We can't fault the cottage, everything has been thought of. Thank you Sykes.

  • "We had a great time at the cozy cottage, it’s a wonderful location with spectacular walks on the doorstep."

Only feedback would be that we were in unable to open the front door using the key, and had to ask the very friendly neighbours for help, who also tried and couldn’t open the front door. They showed us where the back door was, where the key did work so we were able to enter the property. The front door lock was incredibly stiff and the neighbours mentioned that they often hear people struggling with it, so I would recommend this gets looked at urgently. If there hadn’t been neighbours to show us where the back door was (accessed through the neighbours garden) I’m not sure how we would have got in.

  • "We enjoyed our stay very much, the cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable."

It's location was great for visiting the main tourist locations. Thank you to Ben the next door neighbour for mowing the lawn which made sitting out in the evenings more enjoyable. The driveway was difficult to park in due to the stone walls and wall opposite so any car larger than a hatchback may not fit. Our Satnav didnt find the cottage either so, the app What three words reference would be useful for the property as on the day I didnt reread the directions sent to me. Apart from those issues the cottage was lovely and I'd recommend it.

  • "The property is lovely but the management is lacking."

The directions to the property are useless and a bit misleading. There are so many landmarks that could be used to prevent the mystery hunt we had to do. It was a nice touch that there was milk in the fridge and honey in the cupboard, but half a toilet roll for two people for 5 nights is inadequate. The close proximity of the train line should really be mentioned in the listing as it runs late into the night some days and could ruin the holiday of a light sleeper. I have such mixed feelings about this place because I really enjoyed my stay overall. The kitchen was adequately equipped even if it was all a bit mismatched. I really enjoyed sitting in the garden to eat breakfast and the neighbour was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have parking for our small car. If you are into hiking then there are some great walks from the cottage and not too far to drive to other nice places.

  • "Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location in Hope."

Close to many local attractions and a great base for a walking or cycling holiday. Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Don’t be put off by freight train line - only 3 or 4 went past in our 3 days here and they go so slow that very little noise is heard. Would definitely return to this cottage.

  • "A pleasant comfortable cottage."

No hairdryer! Good location for walks locally. Enjoyed meals in the Cheshire Cheese just around the corner. Enjoyed our stay our holiday.

  • "Property was clean and tidy and was an excellent location for exploring."

Facilities at the property could have been improved for example. Only 1 dishwasher tablet No oven trays Hardly any washing up liquid. Really all essential household items you need to take with you. The description of the property was mostly accurate apart from any reference to the freight train line which is right outside your bedroom window. This ran regularly through the day and night and litterly shook the cottage as it went by. Car parking space was also extremely tight and it was a two man job to manoeuvre in and out of the space. Apart from that an enjoyable stay.

Thankyou for taking your time to leave the feedback you have. We have addressed the issues that you have highlighted in your review. Property Owner
