Perched in the small village of Hackney near Matlock in Derbyshire, is this superb stone-built, two-bedroom cottage, Peak View.

Boasting close proximity to the Peak District National Park, exceptional views over the Matlock Hills and easy access to an excellent range of amenities, Peak View is a fabulous dwelling for a family of four or two couples who are looking to escape to the Peaks.

Step into the welcoming sitting room, where you can spend evenings curled up on the plush sofas in front of your favourite film on the Smart TV as the woodburning stove crackles nearby.

As you start to feel peckish, make your way through to the well-equipped kitchen where you can rustle up lovingly home-cooked meals with the help of the electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave and handy dishwasher ensuring cleaning up is breeze!

Settle down at the dining table as you tuck-in to a delicious meal and discuss plans for the days ahead.

If you’re not ready for the evening to end, why not enjoy a crisp glass of wine out on the private courtyard as you savour the last of the day’s sunshine.

Take the short walk over to Matlock Bath, home to the alpine-style cable cars at the Heights of Abraham, where you can explore an expansive 60-acre park which hosts two fascinating caverns, a fossil museum and an adventure playground.

Matlock Bath 1 mile; Bakewell 8 miles.

The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham – a great place for all the family with its showcaves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich. To the north are the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park - not to be missed!
