Warney Lea is a very nice, clean and welcoming place to escape for a few days or maybe just for a weekend to enjoy a fun day at Gulliver's Kingdom and The Heights of Abraham. Very well located for different activities/ trips/ walks. Great communication with management team, which is very friendly and helpful - offered lots of useful information to us (family with a 10 years child) who were visiting for the first time the beautiful Derbyshire. Matlock 1 mile. These two detached cottages are located next to each other on the Bakewell to Matlock road, just a short drive from the magnificent Chatsworth Estate. Located in the village of Darley Dale, on the edge of the Peak District, these two modern properties are ideal touring bases for families wanting to explore the National Park, superb country estates and a host of fascinating historic Derbyshire towns and villages. Sleeping up to 12 people between them, these two properties both offer comfortable accommodation with modern fixtures and furnishings, which will provide excellent holidays all year round. Each of the cottages have an enclosed garden area and the main house features a play room where the kids can retreat to for a game of pool or a catch up of their favourite TV programme. The local area is teeming with fabulous places to visit; Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are stunning country houses where you can lose yourself in the splendour of past times. The popular market town of Bakewell is just a 15-minute drive away, where you can pick up a Bakewell tart or a pudding to enjoy at dinner, or try and catch the local farmers’ market. Matlock has a fascinating selection of quirky antique and craft shops, and you can pop over to its nearby neighbour, Matlock Bath, to enjoy an ice cream and a walk by the river. Take the cable car to the Heights of Abraham, or discover a range of watersports at Carsington Water. Walkers, hikers and mountain bikers will revel in the wondrous Peak District National Park which has trails for all abilities, or you can head up to Buxton and enjoy a show at the Opera House. Whatever you decide to do, these two holiday cottages are in a wonderfully convenient location to discover the whole area.

The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham – a great place for all the family with its showcaves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich. To the north are the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park - not to be missed!
