Elkstones is a delightful little hamlet in the Staffordshire Moorlands area of the Peak District, within easy reach of the market towns of Leek and Buxton. Due to Elkstones’ elevated position it really does command some beautiful views, and is a lovely picturesque and unspoilt area of the Peak District. With a beautiful feeling of rural living, Elkstones is also close to the pretty village of Hartington with two pubs, a tea shop and Post Office, a village store selling a variety of local produce as well as everyday essentials and a cheese shop selling a variety of cheeses including those produced in their own creamery. Close by are the magnificent Manifold and Dove Valleys with their stunning gorges and rolling hillsides. Both have flat tracks and trails along the rivers, making them accessible for those who require a leisurely stroll.
