The village has a couple of friendly pubs with The Dog and Partridge serving good food, The Barn Indian Restaurant, a small shop and two churches. The village is situated five miles from the bustling Staffordshire town of Uttoxeter with its popular racecourse, golf club, and cinema. NT Sudbury Hall and its Museum of Childhood are very close by, offering a fascinating insight into days gone by. The market town of Ashbourne is within driving distance, with its eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys and quaint coaching inns.
