A charming end-terrace cottage set in the lovely market town of Wirksworth.

The open plan living area on the ground floor is very sociable, with its well-equipped, beautifully designed kitchen with quarry tile flooring and woodburning stove with stone surround, the dining area opens into a comfortable lounge area with two sofas.

Outside, you will find a sheltered courtyard with handy bike storage.

Wirksworth is a charming and busy market town and is one of the oldest in this part of the Peak District, where you can find an award-winning restaurant, fine real ale pubs, independent shops that sit alongside two butchers and St Mary’s, a magnificent parish church.

There are plenty of scenic walks and cycling trails on offer around the Derwent Valley and White Peak, with cycling at Carsington Water and the High Peak Cycle Trail very close by.

The beautiful, historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are nearby as well as the popular town of Matlock Bath, located on the river Derwent and surrounded by woodland, rolling hills and cliffs.

Formerly a spa town and famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, nowadays Matlock Bath offers a selection of pubs and shops, plus attractions like the World Heritage Site of Arkwright's Cromford Mill, the adventure-filled Gulliver's Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum and Heights of Abraham, where a cable car ride allows you to take in the exceptional Peak District views in style, before you get the chance to explore its show caves, nature trail, and Owl Maze.

The towns of Matlock, Chesterfield and Bakewell, resting within the Peak District National Park, are all within easy reach.

Matlock 6 miles.

Wirksworth is a small, charming market town situated just a few miles from Matlock, on the edge of The Peak District. The town is full of character with many buildings of architectural interest, including its magnificent parish church of St Mary’s.
Thriving independent grocery stores sit alongside a popular zero waste shop, gift shops and two butchers with a strong local food ethic.
The weekly Tuesday market and monthly farmers' market (first Saturday of the month) provide local produce, coffee and crafts.
Visitors will enjoy exploring the ancient “jitties” and courtyards of the Puzzle Gardens up above the Market Square, leading to the Star Disc with fantastic views high above the town. Visit the Heritage Centre and the delightful surrounding countryside, including nearby Carsington Water, Black Rocks and the High Peak Trail.
Rock climbing and cycling can be enjoyed here at every level, and there is fantastic walking all around.
Well Dressing is unique to Derbyshire, and Wirksworth combines this tradition with a lively carnival in May.
