The cottage was warm, inviting and comfortable. It had a real homely feel and we felt chilled and relaxed for the whole of our stay. The parking wasn’t an issue as we were able to part quite near to offload and found a space behind the pub for overnight. The town though quiet busy with traffic has a good array of shops and the little off street passageway to the cottage was quiet. Booked last minute we had a lovely stay and enjoyed exploring the local area. The people were really friendly and my only regret was that we had only booked 4 midweek nights so didn’t get to experience more. A genuine value for money last minute break in a cottage that was a real home from home. Thank you!

The main bedroom is spacious and the extra large bed very comfortable, there is a cosy sitting room and we did make use of the wood burner on one dreary evening. The kitchen/diner had all we needed to prepare meals with a more than adequate oven and hob. The outside sitting area is sunny and a good place to sit and have a cuppa. The meadow nearby is a handy place to walk the dog. All in all a very good base to explore the many stunning places to visit in the Peak District, we would definitely stay again.

Well equipped kitchen with a fantastic cooker which I enjoyed cooking a roast in on the Sunday. Very clean with milk and biscuits left and also the nice touch of fresh flowers. Fresh clean sheets, towels and tea towels. Huge, extremely comfortable bed. Even dog towels and bowls were left. It was a joy to come back to after a day out walking the lovely Peaks. Wirksworth is a lovely town and there's lots to do nearby. The cottage is well situated and it was easy to park nearby when we were there. There were plenty of 'extra' touches that we appreciated and the log burner kept us cosy on the cold evenings too! The courtyard garden would be a bonus in warmer weather but we were unable to use it due to the time of year. The local real ale pub The Feather is worth a mention as is Gino's, the Italian. The directions to Wirkswall were fine but the directions to find the cottage and the car park were not adequate and it took myself and my daughter about 45 minutes to find the cottage once we were there and after asking three locals the way. For your future guests please give them more explicit and detailed instructions on finding the cottage! Facilities were good but the addition of a Hair Dryer would have been very useful as we had forgotten to take one.

Thank you for your very helpful feedback. We are pleased you felt the cottage was very cozy and ideal for a relaxing weekend. We are sorry that you had difficulty finding the cottage and have taken on board what you have said. We have amended the directions for future guests, my mobile number is included should anyone have any queries.
