  • "We really loved this comfortable cosy cottage."

Lots of good walks from the doorstep. Plenty of eating places within walking distance from the cottage. The welcome pack was excellent and our dog enjoyed the treats as well.

  • "This was our second visit to beautiful Bruadair."

It was so lovely to be back in this clean, comfortable and welcoming home and we appreciated the welcome basket thoughtfully provided for our arrival. Would happily return as there's so much to do in the area and Bruadair provides a convenient and welcoming base.

  • "We had a really lovely holiday and found Bruadair to be clean, comfortable and very well-appointed."

The bed linen and towels were of particularly high quality. We appreciated the little touches, such as the treats and holiday identity tag left out for our dog. We have visited the area many times but hadn't stayed in Aberfeldy before. It was lovely to begin and end each day with a walk along with beautiful River Tay. We miss it already! Thank you.

Sociable kitchen. I’d definitely stay here again. Excellent location with ‘wild-swimming’ spots within half hour drive in all directions. Highly recommend the Linn of Tummock.

  • "You never really know what you're going to get with holiday cottages - Bruadair exceeded expectations."

The bedrooms are all reasonably spacious and the house as a whole is carefully themed and decorated, whilst I think we all found the beds comfortable enough. The main ensuite shower is excellent (both heat and pressure); the electric shower in the main shared bathroom is ok. I did try to take a bath one evening, but the water never really got hot (enough) for some reason. The kitchen is pretty decent, with a good-size table and room to move around. We probably could have done with some larger frying pans/woks, but we managed. A few more plates and mugs wouldn't have gone amiss, but with the dishwasher it's not really an issue. The house is warm enough in winter and whilst the windows don't exclude sound amazingly, it was generally pretty quiet outside. Despite looking like Bruadair is on a main road, there wasn't lots of traffic when we there. I did wake up once or twice from people talking as they came back from the pub (presumably) on a Friday/Saturday night, but I'm a light sleeper and it was a passing thing. Although it looks like parking might be a problem from street view, in our experience it wasn't (and that with roadworks reducing the amount available). What else? The wifi was solid. Make sure you accompany your dog down the garden if they're the kind to go "exploring", as the fences aren't watertight. We were a hiking group, and another drying rack would have helped to distribute damp clothing. No complaints about the cleanliness of the house when we arrived. People with mobility issues might struggle with some of the stairs, but for us it was fine. Aberfeldy is a great base for outdoor groups in particular - big enough to have plenty of local facilities, on roads that seem to be kept open whatever the conditions. On the whole, very pleased. Great price, nicely furnished, comfortable, good facilities, convenient location. I'd certainly stay there again.

Was is a great location, lots to do and nice places to eat, very dog friendly. Had some issues with the stairs, very narrow, had one incident of falling down the stairs. Also had an incident on the patio, with someone falling as was VERY slippery. Otherwise, no issues and highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful week. Would definitely consider staying again.

We really enjoyed our week there and would certainly consider returning. The facilities and equipment were also very good although, having two young children, some cleaning equipment and products would have been useful. Overall, we recommend it!

  • "A fabulous house which catered for all our needs."

We were 8 adults and the overall space in the house allowed us to both enjoy peace and quiet if required as well as spacious for us all to be together in the kitchen or lounge. House is well equipped and any issues we had were solved by reading the owners booklet. The house is very convenient for shops, pub and restaurants. Our only gripe about the house was the owners request to clean, Hoover and strip beds prior to vacating the property by 10am. Allowing an additional hour or not asking for so much to be done would make check out much easier.

It was a perfect size for this as there’s a lovely big kitchen to fit us all and the 4 bedrooms were a really good size with one en-suite. Beautiful walks nearby and the local pub was so welcoming when we went in with children and a dog for food. We are definitely going to book this place again. The owner was also very nice when we spoke on the phone and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this cottage.

It has not yet been given over totally to the tourist trade, unlike nearby Pitlochry. The Birks cinema can be recommended, not just for films but also for it’s community activities. Within a few miles can be found castles to visit, Munros to climb, rivers to canoe down and lochs to sail on. What more could you want for a fine holiday.

Whilst this may not be an issue for those familiar with traffic noise, it is for those not used to living on a main road. We feel there should be some mention that this located on the main Kenmore road out of the village.

About the location

ABERFELDY

Pitlochry 14 miles; Perth 31 miles.

The market town of Aberfeldy stands on the River Tay amidst beautiful scenery in rural Perthshire. Famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, and also the bridge built for General Wade in 1733, Aberfeldy is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. There is a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. In addition, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery. Castle Menzies is a wonderful 16th century castle, now fully restored and open to visitors. Take a distillery tour at Dewar’s World of Whisky on the edge of town. Sample the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the town and explore the galleries and craft shops, including the Scottish Chocolate Centre. The Scottish Crannog Centre offers a glimpse into Iron Age life and Loch Tay offers a multitude of watersports, while Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are on your doorstep.
