  • "We had a lovely holiday at Bugaboo Cottage."

The house was ideal for our party - spacious, clean and very comfortable, and particularly well equipped, even for baking. Upstairs was light and airy, and downstairs cosy with underfloor heating, and we loved having three bathrooms, one for each bedroom! It's five minutes away from Menzies Castle and some beautiful forest walks, well within walking distance of Aberfeldy, and 15 or so minutes by car from Kenmore (Crannog Centre and Watersports). We had most of our meals outside on the patio, and when we weren't exploring the lovely area, the children enjoyed playing in the garden. Many thanks to the owners!

The place was spotless and well equipped. This was our first trip away with our baby and was perfect. The location suited us as it was a nice walk away from Aberfeldy. We would definitely like to come back in the future.

I would recommend you get some kind of support for top bunk bed as as my daughter had rolled of had hurt her self during the night which I was not happy with , the bedroom walls were dirty to . but everything else was great .

Thanks for your feedback. Really pleased you enjoyed the cottage. We have now installed a guard rail and that bedroom is being repainted at the end of this month. Property Owner

It was clean and was well equipped for our stay. The beds were comfortable and the showers were lovely. The cottage was really central for exploring the local area as well.

  • "We had a great holiday and really enjoyed the Walking and Climbing which for us is the main reason for visiting Highland Perthshire."

The cottage was clean and the accommodation was comfortable. We did have a few issues, but the owners sorted them quickly. If somewhere is popular then keeping on top of things is difficult. So well done folks you did well. Oh and thanks for a good holiday.

  • "Four of us (two couples) had a lovely holiday at Bugaboo."

The cottage is well-presented with plenty cooking equipment and adequate dishes etc. The kitchen/dining/sitting room is spacious, with comfortable sofas and chairs to relax in after a day’s walking or cycling. The entrance area is great for storing boots, jackets, etc. We used the second sitting room as a store for cool boxes, rucksacks and so on. Bedrooms are nice with comfortable beds. The laundry at the back was ideal for washing and drying clothes and would be a real bonus in bad weather. It was hot and sunny for the whole week we stayed and we enjoyed a cold drink round the picnic table in the garden when we came back each day. The area is beautiful with lots to do for people who enjoy the outdoors. The hotel about a quarter of a mile back towards Aberfeldy has a nice beer garden and offers good food. It can be accessed from a path so no need to walk along the road which can be quite busy. All in all, an excellent stay - we hope to return!

An added bonus was the drying room at the back, perfect for getting the wetsuits dry after trips to Loch Tay. The only inconvenience was having to be out by 9am when our booking said 10am

  • "The cottage was beautiful, extremely comfortable and very well equipped."

There was plenty of room for the 6 of us. It is in a fantastic location being so close to Aberfeldy and the river Tay. There were lots of walks from the front door with beautiful wild flowers and birds. It is a fantastic part of Scotland for hill walking and forest walks. Aberfeldy is also a fantastic town to spend time in. We did not want to leave.

It's very convenient for trips in any direction and there are many lovely walks too. Also we can recommend the hotel about a quarter of a mile walk along the road for friendliness and good food.

  • "A fantastic, spacious and comfortable cottage in a great location."

The kitchen was well equipped, the second lounge was great to be able to spread out and having a separate drying room and washing machine was welcomed in a location where the weather can be a little unpredictable! The porch area was also helpful to remove and store boots and outdoor clothing, keeping the main living area warm and clean. We loved the area and hope to visit again soon.

Pity there was no fire as the owner did say that logs would be supplied but I think he mixed up with another cottage as there was no fire, no logs. TV would be happier at low level. Excellent hotel next door with great atmosphere and live bands. Great spot where you can walk through the Birks to Aberfeldy.

About the location

Pitlochry 14 miles; Perth 31 miles.

The market town of Aberfeldy stands on the River Tay amidst beautiful scenery in rural Perthshire. Famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, and also the bridge built for General Wade in 1733, Aberfeldy is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. There is a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. In addition, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery. Castle Menzies is a wonderful 16th century castle, now fully restored and open to visitors. Take a distillery tour at Dewar’s World of Whisky on the edge of town. Sample the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the town and explore the galleries and craft shops, including the Scottish Chocolate Centre. The Scottish Crannog Centre offers a glimpse into Iron Age life and Loch Tay offers a multitude of watersports, while Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are on your doorstep. An hours drive brings you to 30 Munros, just waiting to be 'bagged'!
