“The "Cabin at the Tavern" is a lovely little getaway place for anyone wanting to explore the surrounding area.”
The bed was surprisingly comfortable and easy to fold away if needed and the water was hot with plenty of pressure for the shower. A two way adapter would come in handy to save swapping the kettle and toaster over but there is also a gas grill so not a problem, though an adapter would be useful for phone charger etc. as there are only a couple of sockets. As dogs are not allowed in the Tavern, I didn't try their food but I was told "you need to book a table as it gets busy." so I imagine it ...

I had a wonderful week and will definitely book again when I re-visit.
“Everyone we met was extremely welcoming and friendly, Jim went out of his way to accommodate us and our kitten Oliver.”
We were a bit unsure bringing him on holiday with us, as it's quite unusual. But the holiday was exactly what we wanted, calming, insightful and the perfect getaway from day to day life. The cabin has a great little kitchen with everything we needed including milk, bread, coffe and tea! The Tavern itself does great homely food! I cant reccomend the Cabin at the Tavern more! We're planning our return trip soon!
“We had a wonderfull stay at the Cabin, it is compact and comfortable Jim the landlord and all the staff in the Tavern were so polite and helpfull, the food was absolutely amazing.”
We will certainly be back.

The cabin was lovely and Jim and his staff were nice food ar the tavern is second to none and portions were fab there is not very much privacy when you sit out you are right on the beer garden and not much room for clothes etc but we enjoyed the time we had there
“The pordge is al little nice 1 room house like a tiny House.”
All we need was in. My dog loved the little terr and good Dinner in the tavern.asse and the gras arround. We had a beautifull Taverne. Thank you
“Good location for travelling to lots of places of interest.”
Food & service in the Ardler tavern fantastic
“The welcoming and friendly host made staying at the cabin a pure delight.”
He provided us with ample suggestions for our Scottish adventures. It was also great to have the cosy tavern across the car park, selling delishious food perfect after a long walk. Loved this cabin we would love to visit again!
“Highly recommend to anyone, Jim the host went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect.”
We totally enjoyed our stay, my husband didn’t have far to go for a pint and a chat, whilst I enjoyed the garden with my dog. We will be going back.
“The village is in a great place most of the other towns and cities attractions are just 13-14 mile away at the most”
“We really enjoyed our weeks stay in the Cabin.”
The accommodation, although very compact, is extremely nicely appointed with a surprisingly comfortable drop-down bed and unexpectedly roomy shower / washroom. It has a neat little galley area complete with cooker, microwave and full-size fridge/freezer, although we didn't cook often.....the pub and its very decent catering is just about 20 paces away! Jim, the owner and landlord of the Tavern is a great host. This place is ideally located in the lovely Strathmore region. We had a great week, away from it all, exploring an area of Scotland not on the traditional tourist map.
“Fabulous glamping experience!”
Beautifully appointed, comfortable and FUN!!! Lovely welcome from the owner and the food in his restaurant has to be tasted to be believed - especially the steaks. 5***** seems wholly inadequate! VERY highly recommended
“The holiday was good just the pod needs extra insulation and more privacy”
“A quirky place to stay, the cabin is small but does have all that is needed for a good holiday.”
The Tavern serves good food and beer, the staff are friendly and helpful, in particular the owner. A good base for exploring the surrounding area, Dundee, Perth and the coast. Good walking and plenty of interesting museums. A piece of advice, there is not a lot of storage space so don't take too much stuff.
“That's was lovely stay.”
Many thanx once again and I hope see you soon ;)
“The cabin is ideally located for access to the main towns and cities as well as the glens for walkers.”
There is a first class bar and resturant (The Tavern) across the garden which is run by the owner Jim Duncan and his superb staff.
“Fabulous cabin with everything you need.”
The tavern is lovely and has a lovely menu.
“If you want a holiday in this area go stay in the cabin at the tavern fab holiday accommodation.”
Food in the tavern exceptional Jim and his team very welcoming and helpful highly recommend every thing we could wish for , a great holiday.
“The Cabin in the Tavern is a wonderful, fascinating little retreat in beautiful surroundings.”
Ardler is a lovely village and there are so many other very desirable towns and villages within easy reach. The Tavern itself was a great asset to us on holiday. Truly excellent meals were brought out to us as we sat at our table on the deck in front of the Cabin. The staff are wonderful and very friendly and when my wife broke her leg in Stonehaven Jim was magnificent, he was extremely helpful and very supportive. I would recommend the Cabin whole heartedly.
“This was a very relaxing holiday, and the pod was perfect for us.”
A great feeling of freedom in a beautiful part of the country, with complete access to the Tavern for meals and music, but plenty of privacy as well. Jim was a good, friendly host yet not intrusive. All in all, a great home from home with everything needed for a lovely break. Thanks. Fiona and Brian.
