  • "Stunning Lodge and absolutely immaculate."

We had a fantastic week and wouldn't hesitate to book again. It's so comfortable and cosy and has everything you need, beautiful dining area and super comfy living room with tv on the wall, we were able to connect our firestick and watch whatever we wanted. Beautiful double bedroom with a comfortable bed and two bathrooms with a much needed bath after a day's walking. The park itself is quiet with beautiful views onto craigrossie hill (which is a cracking walk) Auchterarder Town is a 20 minute walk or a short drive and has lovely wee restaurants and bars. All in all a fantastic holiday and I would reiterate how immaculate it is and the owner was friendly and helpful. We loved it and hope to come back

It was perfect as we wanted to recharge our batteries. The lodge was clean and modern and warm. It had everything you would need. It even included consumables like tea, sugar, cleaning products. The beds were comfortable. We'd definitely recommend break here.

Perhaps a wee bit of information could be provided about the walk along the Ruthven. It is a delightfully peaceful location and we left with our batteries thoroughly recharged.

The lodge itself was lovely and fully equipped, however there was no space to store food. Was disappointed with Auchterarder as a village but that's personal choice.

  • "Lovely comfortable lodge."

Everything needed for a weekend/week's break was on hand. Great location to sightsee areas nearby and of course, golfers will love it's proximity to Gleneagles. We visited the Safari Park which was the main aim of our stay. Staying close to the park meant we could arrive early and avoid the crowds, it gets very busy around lunchtime. Beautiful countryside, Stirling especially well worth a visit.

Very clean. Disappointed as there was no WiFi at all. It’s capped at a certain rate and had been used up. It would be fine if this was detailed in the listing somehow, but we booked expecting it. Was relying on it to check important e-mails. Feel that if everyone is paying the same rental fee, they should all benefit from the same facilities.

  • "Lovely lodge in nice location."

Only one criticism lighting very poor in some rooms due to use of energy saving bulbs with mostly dark shades, and use of roller blinds which when down cut out a lot of the natural light. I would imagine people with poor eyesight would find it difficult to see fine detail in some areas particularly bathrooms and bedrooms. Having said the above the lodge was really nice and obviously well looked after as it was immaculate.

About the location

Crieff 9 miles; Perth 13 miles; Stirling 20 miles; Glasgow 45 miles; Edinburgh 58 miles.

From the Gaelic meaning Upper Highland, the small town of Auchterarder sits amidst stunning rural scenery in Scotland’s beautiful Strathearn, Perthshire. The town was once affectionately known as The Town of 100 Drawbridges in the Middle Ages, on account of the small bridges that criss-crossed the gutters, offering access between the road and the houses. Gaining the title of Royal Burgh in 1200, Auchterarder was subsequently torched and completely destroyed by retreating Jacobites in 1715, and only the handloom industry allowed it to grow and thrive again. On the occassion of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton the Queen gave the title of Earl and Countess of Strathearn to the happy couple. Offering a fascinating history prominent in its old buildings, today the town is often referred to as The Lang Toun or Long Town after its 1.5 mile long main street, which leads to its thriving centre where many attractive shops, cafes and bars can be found. Hill walking, horse riding, cycling, shooting, fishing and even parachuting are available in this wonderful area, but golf enthusiasts will be especially delighted with the famous Gleneagles Hotel complex and Auchterarder Golf Club next door. St Andrews and Carnoustie are also an easy travel distance away.
