Very secluded and nice walks by the River Teith from the cottage. Also able to see deer, sheep and if fortunate a red squirrel or two. Short run by car into Doune and Dunblane, Calender and Aberfoyle 30 minutes away by car. The cottage itself is quite quirky and very comfortable and we would definitely stay again. Great location for exploring the Trossachs. Will definitely return. Reviewed by DennisAug 2020 "We had a wonderful time at the Golden Gates Lodge." All rooms are clean. Appliances and facilities worked well. We love the spiral staircase to the bedrooms on the 1st floor. The lodge is part of an estate where you take several walk routes including along beautiful river. No internet access was a bit tricky. Especially when you need to check the area book somewhere online (restaurant, tickets, etc) . But in the end we were fine without it as we spent everyday walking and exploring the area. Will be back!
