The property

A wonderful, farmhouse-style cottage which is part of the Lanrick Estate within close reach of the pretty village of Doune.

This spacious accommodation is perfectly appointed for a group of walkers looking to explore the Trossachs National Park or for a family and friends' celebration in this majestic part of Stirlingshire.

It comes with four well-presented twin bedrooms, offering a flexible sleeping arrangements to suit any group.

Three of the bedrooms enjoy their own en-suite, whilst the additional bedroom comes within close reach of a separate shower room.

After a busy day exploring, look forward to relaxing within the spacious living area, where you will find all the essentials for a week-long stay.

The designated chef of the group has a well-equipped kitchen, housing all the essentials to whip up a home-cooked meal, before gathering loved ones around the large dining table to enjoy a sociable evening over a delicious meal.

After dinner, sink into the plush sofas which rest in front of a roaring woodburning stove and tune into the TV or get lost within a book.

Younger guests of the group will be delighted to find a well-equipped games room, where hours of entertainment can be enjoyed before heading to bed.

To the outside of the cottage, spend a moment or two strolling the endearing grounds as well as beautiful, secluded walks along the river, enjoying a refreshing drink on the bench seating or making use of the impressive tennis court if you are feeling active.

If you can tear yourself away from this wonderful base, stroll into the centre of Doune, where you will find a pub serving food, an Italian restaurant and a choice of shops for picking up the essentials.

Alternatively, venture a little further to the city of Stirling, where you will find a larger selection of eateries, as well as a number of attractions including the 12th century castle, the National Wallace Monument and a number of golf courses.

If you are visiting with younger guests, they will be delighted to find Blair Drummond Safari Park within close reach, boasting a boating lake, an adventure playground and many wild animals.

For those feeling adventurous, head to the endearing Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, where miles of walks can be enjoyed.

Stirling 8.5 miles; Perth 33 miles.

Doune is a pretty village resting within the district of Stirling, Scotland. The village houses a medieval castle which was used as the Monty Python set. Today, it houses a 95ft high gatehouse and also boasts domestic quarters where you will find the Lord’s Hall with its carved oak screen and double fireplace. The village also houses a selection of shops, a restaurant and a café, as well as buildings of historical interest which includes the Kilmadock Parish Church and the Bridge of Teith. Within close reach is the city of Stirling, where you will find further amenities and attractions including the Royal castle, The National Wallace Monument and the golf club. Also within close reach is the Blair Drummond Safari Park which is the only safari park in the country. Doune is a wonderful base to explore this part of Scotland further.
