1 Customer Review

  • "Ideal situation for exploring Fife and the surrounding area."

The owners were very friendly and accommodating, ensuring everything was suitable for our stay in Scotland. A very good welcome and an equally nice send off. Would definitely recommend a visit. The track towards the property takes a bit of negotiating. Some of the big potholes need addressing to ensure no damage is done to prospective holidaymakers vehicles.

The property

Burnside of Letham Farm is an admirable stone farmhouse, in the village of Bonnybank nestled on the outskirts of the coastal town of Leven, in the Central Lowlands of Scotland.

Perfect for families who love both the countryside and coast, this marvellous property sits on a large enclosed garden area that surrounds the entrance of the property, offering guests a superb outdoor space to wander, and is suitable for for those wishing to bring horses due to the steading and loose boxes that the property provides.

Stepping into the property, you will be invited into a large entrance hallway in which you can find a lovely piano, where you can play and impress your fellow guests!

To the first left of the entrance hallway is a sun-filled and wonderfully-spacious sitting room with a wall-mounted TV, a warming woodburning stove, books and games and a fabulous corner sofa that you can look forward to sinking into after long adventures.

To the right of the hallway you'll find a beautiful cream and wooden-style kitchen with countryside charm, featuring all the appliances you could possibly need during your stay, including a Belfast sink, Stanley range hob and oven, and elegant dining seating for six, overlooking the splendid garden area.

Adjoining from the kitchen is a convenient, amply-equipped utility room which includes a fridge/freezer, a microwave, dishwasher, and a washing machine.

Leading from this is a well-decorated, super-king-size (zip/link) bedroom, ideal for younger guests, complete with a contemporary en-suite bathroom.

Climb the stairs to the first floor and you'll find a bright family bathroom with additional garden views, plus two additional bedrooms to retreat to and unwind in, comprising of a master double bedroom and a spacious family bedroom with a double and a single bed.

The property is ideally positioned, in close proximity to the lively town centre of Leven, where you'll be able to find a sandy beach, a pleasant promenade to take a stroll along, an indoor swimming pool and sport centre, golf courses, plus an array of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

For recreational activities and picnics, visit the woodland valley of Letham Glen and Silverburn Park, where you can enjoy the great outdoors surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Venture slightly further afield to find the main towns of Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, the quaint fishing villages of the East Neukas, as well as the Lomond Hills Regional Park, a vast area which offers tremendous Scottish scenery where you can roam among peaceful lochs, moorland and farmland, whether it be by foot or mountain bike.

Whatever the season, Burnside of Letham Farm promises an enjoyable stay for you and your loved ones in this superb region of Scotland.

About the location

Glenrothes 8 miles; St Andrews 15 miles; Edinburgh 37 miles; Stirling 41 miles.

A seaside town on the east coast of Fife; Leven is the gateway to the picturesque fishing villages of East Neuk, with history leading back to as far as the 15th century! Leven’s name is derived from the Pictish word for ‘flood’ and is a wonderland of woodlands and nature trails, perfect for enjoying that clean country air. Leven became a popular tourist resort when the railway link connected it to the Edinburgh-Aberdeen line in 1854 and it has remained so to this day with its beautiful, long sandy beach, the luscious Letham Glen and Siverburn parks. Golfers are drawn here by the Leven Links and Lundin Links courses, with a further two at nearby Scoonie. With the village’s close proximity to St Andrews, known as “The Home of Golf”, it is an ideal location for golf enthusiasts. Leven is a superb location for touring the beautiful coastal villages of Fife, Stirling; the largest city in central Scotland and Edinburgh.
