  • "A stunning place in a quaint little village."

We were provided with a brilliant starter pack including bread, jam, marmalade, butter, eggs, milk and a lovely bottle of Prosecco. The home was delightful, too. Stylish, modern comfortable and immaculately kept. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The hot tub was brilliant, the garden sizeable and the covered pergola was superb to have a morning drink in. We absolutely will be back. Communication from the owner was excellent and kind, too.

It is an ideal base to explore the local area and further afield. The local park was nice to walk around, and the Gleneagles ground near by was stunning. A visit to Calllander, Perth and Comrie was enjoyable and a paddle in Loch Earn was relaxing and views that were breathtaking. Then to come back to a soothing hot tub and a comfortable king size bed was truly perfect. Highly recommended to recharge the batteries, get back to nature in a lovely , quiet property with everything to hand . Thank you David, keep up the good work Michelle and Brian

  • "Absolutely fantastic week."

The cottage was absolutely amazing and Dave was such a great host. Really central location for sight seeing and plenty to do locally. Only gripe I have which is probably a more personal one which probably doesn't bother most, but the garden is described as enclosed, which it is, but there is the tiniest of fences between you and the next door neighbour.

HI Rachael Many thanks for your great feedback and we're chuffed to bits to hear that you both had a great holiday stay with us. It's great to hear that you found the location central and a great base for touring around sight seeing. I fully appreciate your comment re the fence in the back garden - the fence is waist high and does keep pets in. We had initially considered putting a higher fence up but our neighbour didn't want to feel "cooped in" hence we have stuck with the original. Hopefully the higher fence next to the house, and the hot tub lid (when open) gave you enough privacy. Many thanks again for staying with us and hopefully we can welcome you back again soon. The owners left us a generous Easter hamper which was thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed. The cottage was really modern, very comfortable and cosy. On the door step to some beautiful walks and of course Gleneagles - although I played locally at Crieff instead. Even better was the hot tub, which we enjoyed both nights, we were blessed with clear skies so really enjoyed getting lost in the starry night sky. Feus was paw-fect for our dog billy too, as mentioned we enjoyed some walks in the local area, before coming back to settle with a good film. Would 100% recommend and will be returning in the future.

The cottage is fully modernised inside but retains a cosy character. Despite being dog friendly, previous dog presence is undetectable. Our dog was at home very quickly and loved the nearby walks, including treks around the grounds of Gleneagles Hotel. Dave was a responsive, friendly and helpful host. The welcome pack was a lovely treat, too. Thoroughly recommend Feus cottage - the hot tub with its built in WiFi speakers was a welcome feature too that made getting outside in February very positive. Exquisitely furnished and presented. David provided us with details of the local area, eateries, shopping and activities, via email, prior to our arrival. The information folder, in the cottage had leaflets and maps to help you plan your stay. Detailed instructions on all the appliances. Coffee maker, tv, washer/dryer, dish washer, etc. There was a welcome pack, with all the essentials, the shower room had beautiful toiletries supplied. A dog bowl and treats made our 4-legged friend feel welcome too. A text message from David before we arrived, told us the cottage was ready, as was the hot tub and included the key code for entry. The twinkling lights on the christmas tree and the beautiful door wreath made the perfect first impressions. The underfloor heating made the cottage lovely and warm, as during our visit the temp reached -9°, perfect weather for hot tubbing. The enclosed garden was an added bonus for our dog. Local walks are well sign posted and very dog friendly. Close to Gleneagles Hotel, where you are free to walk around the immaculate surroundings, as long as your dog remains on its lead and you stay on the paths. You can qatch the gun dogs during their training sessions on the lawn, near the kennels. The A9, Stirling, Crieff and Perth all within a short drive and great for exploring. Our week went all to quickly, but we will visit again.

This was our first holiday away together as a family and I am so glad that we picked here to make some wonderful memories. The cottage is beaufully decorated and comfortable and felt like a real home from home, which made life so much easier for our little one. The open plan kitchen / living room is perfect and comfy with everything you need to chill out in the evening and cook up a storm. Sadly since this is Scotland we had quite a lot of rain so didn't use the outdoor space much, but it is really spacious and inviting! Hot tub is always a bonus and this one is the height of luxury! An absolutely massive bed with some of the softest and cosiest sheets I have ever slept in. David had organised a travel cot and high chair for us so even the little one slept in style. Auchterarder itself is a lovely little town. Nice and close to Stirling and Perth but the town itself has some lovely eating spots. The cottage is only a short walk from the town centre and the parking outside the property is super handy. All in all we had an absolute blast at Feus and will definitely return again in the future! It's the perfect wee place for family adventures ❤️

  • "Loved our stay."

The cottage was very well presented and clean. There was plenty space in the living room for us and our dog. Lots of work tops in the kitchen. The bed was so comfortable and huge!! Plenty storage space too. Loved the bathrobes. Great shower with nice toiletries and towels. Enjoyed the hot tub. The garden was great for the dog as well as us humans. It was good to see a clothes line so you didn't have to use the dryer. The covered seating area was handy in the rain. Friendly neighbour and dog next door. Great communication from Dave. Thanks for the prosecco etc. A couple of suggestions maybe provide a frying pan and an iron. Would definitely recommend this cottage. Auchterarder was a very friendly place and had good eateries.

The home is a credit to such a great host. I would very highly recommend a stay, the little town is full of friendly people, we felt so welcome and didn’t want to leave.

About the location

AUCHTERARDER

Crieff 9 miles; Perth 13 miles; Stirling 20 miles; Glasgow 45 miles; Edinburgh 58 miles.

From the Gaelic meaning Upper Highland, the small town of Auchterarder sits amidst stunning rural scenery in Scotland’s beautiful Strathearn, Perthshire. The town was once affectionately known as The Town of 100 Drawbridges in the Middle Ages, on account of the small bridges that criss-crossed the gutters, offering access between the road and the houses. Gaining the title of Royal Burgh in 1200, Auchterarder was subsequently torched and completely destroyed by retreating Jacobites in 1715, and only the handloom industry allowed it to grow and thrive again. On the occassion of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton the Queen gave the title of Earl and Countess of Strathearn to the happy couple. Offering a fascinating history prominent in its old buildings, today the town is often referred to as The Lang Toun or Long Town after its 1.5 mile long main street, which leads to its thriving centre where many attractive shops, cafes and bars can be found. Hill walking, horse riding, cycling, shooting, fishing and even parachuting are available in this wonderful area, but golf enthusiasts will be especially delighted with the famous Gleneagles Hotel complex and Auchterarder Golf Club next door. St Andrews and Carnoustie are also an easy travel distance away.
