  • "The cottage was so good, it was really well equipped and spotlessly clean, the standard of fixtures, fittings and decoration was fantastic and really well thought out, it felt like a home and was really comfortable."

The owner was brilliant and made sure we were happy and content with everything, I would highly recommend staying. We will without a doubt go back in the future.

  • "We were amazed by how beautiful the cottage was inside, the photos on the website do not do it justice."

The bed was so comfortable and the shower was huge. The kitchen had everything you needed and more. Crieff is a lovely little town with everything you need. Also was perfectly placed for the places we wanted to visit. We will definitely be back to this cottage and have already recommended it to our family and friends.

  • "It's a lovely, cozy, clean, wee holiday cottage in a good location."

It's close to the town centre and supermarket. The layout is very practical, downstairs loo is a bonus, and great shower room upstairs. In the kitchen I think that a small fridge-freezer would be better than just the fridge. The cottage is tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard.

In the centre of crieff within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Cottage very cozy and a downstairs toilet which we didn't expect, Couple of wine glasses would have made it perfect.

  • "The cottage was well situated seeing a wide amount of Scotland."

The owner had thought about everything we needed for our stay. Owner left instruction booklet, wifi awkward, to log in but once i got in it was fine . Crieff was very near to a good Chinese and fish and chip shops. You don't have to travel far for breathtaking views. If you get chance look up the steam railway from Fort William

  • "So glad that I got to meet Archie who owns this property - we got to do a load of washing that we hung out to dry, something we can't do at home."

We loved the lay out of the cottage, the cleanliness, the provision of what we needed (including clothes pegs), the comfortable bed and a wonderful shower. A perfect place from which we could go out and enjoy the countryside and a lovely place to hang out - truly a perfect home from home.

  • "Lovely and clean property, comfortable, well cared for, reasonably equipped and cosy."

There is room outside to unload - then to park up the street. It would have been nice to have a small freezer/icebox in the fridge - just to make ice. Also a clothes horse/dryer would be useful. We were only there for a short stay so didn't need to use the washing machine - but if we had booked for a week or if the weather was bad we would have liked to use it. I believe there is a shared outdoor drying area somewhere. Good location for centre of Crieff. We ate at Delivino - but you need to book in advance there and the other restaurants. The Food Hall up the road is good too.

  • "Marvellous little cottage, perfect for a couple."

Lack of dedicated parking did not bother us at all, there was plenty available in the nearby streets. There were many little touches that made the cottage feel very homely, pretty pictures, small decorative objects. Everything was or felt brand-new, kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Bedroom with a comfortable bed, nice bedding. The best bid was probably the bathroom with its huge shower, what a treat. When coming back to Scotland this cottage will be our first choice, we would love to come back.

  • "Great location in the centre of Crieff."

Parking can be tricky because of road works and demolition, but we just always found a space further down the street. Pub less than 1 min walk and Crieff high street up a hill 2 minutes away. An airer for drying wet clothes would be useful.

  • "Parking nearby was challenging due to some unexpected building work along the street, but easily resolved after a little research."

After that we found this immaculate cottage ideally located for shops, restaurants and the surrounding countryside - very central but still quiet, and had everything we could possibly have needed. Could not recommend more highly.

  • "Stayed at this beautiful cottage for 4 days."

The decor and furnishings were outstanding. Although small it had everything we needed during our stay. The bed and mattress were very comfortable and the shower was great! The cottage is right in the centre of Crieff and well situated as a starting point for visiting this lovely part of Scotland. The only slight minus is that it has no parking outside the house but this is available within a short distance of the property. We had a great time, the weather was kind and we would definitely stay here again.

  • "We were very happy with Meadow Cottage it was beautifully refurbished and had everything we needed for a few days away great pub/restaurant on the doorstep."

However due to circumstances outwith the owners control we were unable to stay the full 3 nights. But they were great and they put us into their other property just down the street which was also superb. They couldn't have been more helpful in trying circumstances. We would definitely recommend both properties and we hope to visit again soon.

About the location

CRIEFF

Gleneagles 10 miles; Perth 18 miles; Stirling 22 miles.

Sitting between Perth and Crianlarich, the popular tourist town of Crieff lies on the geological fault line where the Lowlands meet the Highlands. Originally a hub for cattle drovers between the 16th and 18th centuries, Crieff expanded due to its location and as a meeting place for the cattle business to meet the demands of an increasing Lowlands population. Due to the nature of these meetings or trysts, Crieff developed into a ‘frontier town’ with its reputation for punishment by hanging spreading throughout Europe, and the remains of the gallows can be seen in Perth Museum. Most of Crieff was burned down in 1716 by Highlanders returning demoralised from the Battle of Sheriffmuir and the current town layout was conceived by James Drummond, 3rd Duke of Perth in 1731. Indeed it was Drummond who prevented a further burning since he was a supporter of the Jacobite Rebellion. Bonnie Prince Charlie and his army stayed in the town in 1746 and held meetings in the Drummond Arms Inn in the town centre. Drummond Castle is close to Crieff and its spectacular gardens are open to the public. Today, Crieff is a popular and bustling tourist town with many attractions, including the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre and Glenturret Distillery with its Famous Grouse Experience. The leisure centre provides opportunity for swimming, squash and the gym, or head to Crieff Hydro for more activities or spa facilities. Explore the stunning scenery at Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, or enjoy a round of golf at Crieff Golf Club or the nine hole course at nearby Comrie. Loch Earn, home to the Lochearnhead Watersports Centre and stunning scenery, is easily reached from Crieff. An inspiring tourist destination set amidst stunning Perthshire scenery.
