The surroundings were remarkably tranquil and serene, with the beautiful castle next door adding to the charm. The location proved to be perfect, offering a balance of proximity to villages and larger towns while maintaining a peaceful countryside setting. The interior was exceptionally comfortable, and we found ourselves wanting for nothing. The cleanliness of everything was noteworthy. • "We loved the property but …."

We are not walkers and toured in our car, it would have been nice to have loungers outside to lay on in the good weather, when it rained the noise of the rain hitting the skylights kept us awake at night, the 5 rugs on the floor were trip hazards and unnecessary especially under the coffee table and under the dining table why have them there? only having sufficient cutlery and crockery for 2 people although adequate if we wanted to offer refreshments to friends we were unable to do so

Your comments are noted and we will respond as follows: - we do not consider it to be an appropriate area for loungers - there are many properties with skylight windows to provide extra light, not much we can do about the weather - the rugs on the floor are a matter of opinion and are not a trip hazard - we provide double cutlery and crockery for the amount of occupants staying, so there would have been 4 of everything. It was lovely to sit and watch the Hares, Red squirrels and all the lovely birds. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a lovely powerful shower. The only things that let it down for us was chipped and cracked plates and dirty glasses. As well as this neither the bed linen or the towels were changed for the whole three weeks that we were there and the clothes airer needed replacing.

Many apologies for this. A bad oversight on our behalf and not something that usually happens. All points noted . Thank you Property Owner

Many points of interest can be reached whether you are interested in history or in sports and nature. The property has enough space for two people and has everything you need. I didn't give it 5 stars for 2 reasons, maintenance and cleaning weren't the best. Let's say that if I had rented this Studio in a high season where the cost of rent is higher, for these reasons I would have given only 2 stars.

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry that you didn’t find the property to your satisfaction. Having received your comments I checked the property and the only thing that I found awry was one loose tile in the shower room which will be dealt with. Property Owner

Kilbryde Castle Cottages

These lovely cottages sit with others in the grounds of the owner’s castle in the countryside outside the cathedral city of Dunblane in Stirlingshire. The castle and the cottages nestle on the side of a gorge with the river Ardoch flowing at its base. These Dunblane cottages have been lovingly created from existing farm buildings and each has been uniquely furnished and decorated to provide a boutique mix of traditional character and modern amenities. Each property has an outdoor seating area and guests can enjoy roaming in the 15 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland that surround the castle. These cottages are approximately 100 yards apart and can be booked together, accommodating a total of six people. Dunblane is an attractive town sitting on the Allan Water dominated by its stunning cathedral, dating mostly from the 13th century. The station provides good rail links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth. Visit central Scotland’s only Red Kite feeding station nearby and marvel at these wonderful birds in action. Why not enjoy the country walk or cycle to the village of Doune and explore its ancient castle or taste some malt whisky at the Deanston distillery and visitor centre. Delve into history in Stirling with its spectacular castle and the stunning monument to William Wallace. These properties are ideally located for exploring central Scotland with Fife and St Andrews, the Trossachs with their beautiful glens and lochs and even Loch Lomond all within easy reach.

About the location

DUNBLANE

Stirling 5.9 miles; Perth 28.5 miles; Edinburgh 41.6 miles; Glasgow 31.3 miles

Dunblane is a small cathedral town situated six miles north of Stirling just off the A9 road which has been bypassed since 1991. Its main landmark is Dunblane Cathedral and the Allan Water runs through the town centre, with the Cathedral and the High Street on the east side. The nearby Victorian spa town of Bridge of Allan three miles away is a former spa town at the foot of the Ochil Hills near Stirling. It is named after the Allan Water, which flows through the town and on into the River Forth. With a history dating back to the Iron Age, the village formed in the 16th century when the ford was replaced by a stone bridge and mining of copper, silver and gold took place in the hills above. Today, the main street bears Alexander Henderson’s name and the town is prosperous and home to Stirling University, a golf club and many shops and restaurants. So much of central Scotland is within easy reach of Dunblane, and it has good road and rail links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews. The beautiful scenery of this area makes it a haven for walkers, cyclists, anglers and nature lovers, and golfers are especially well served with Gleneagles about 20 minutes' drive away, along with Carnoustie and St Andrews, about an hour’s drive away. The Ochil Hills are on the doorstep, and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park a short drive to the north. Also nearby is the city of Stirling, Scotland’s youngest city and yet one that has so much history, specifically Mary Queen of Scots and William Wallace, with the historic Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument being well worth a visit. Dunblane offers an excellent central touring location, while closer to home is the historic Bridge of Allan.
