  • "What a lovely hideaway, yet just minutes from the A9."

Easy to reach, yet utterly peaceful and off the beaten track. Very comfortable, huge, comfortable bed. Internet better than I had expected, ok I didn’t try streaming anything, but it all worked brilliantly. Red squirrels outside the front door, and plenty of wildlife to see. Easy to reach lots of attractions.

  • "The Studio was ideal for a restful tranquil break in a beautiful part of the world."

It is well equipped and cleanliness was spot on. Down a narrow road and well off the beaten track. As I have visited this area many times before did not visit the usual tourist attractions of which there are many. Given the current situation with Covid the cottage was a good place to chill out, also in a handy position for Golf and Fishing nearby. In the light of the risks of travelling abroad will hope to use your services again in future.

  • "The best thing about this holiday was that although less than 3 miles from the main road north, the peace and tranquility of the cottage's setting was the defining quality."

Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the fields was superb, walks in the castle grounds very relaxing, yet 5 minutes' drive took you to the main road. This is a place for real relaxation, as a retreat for a couple I cannot imagine anywhere better in the UK. When we went in mid-June, the sky didn't get truly dark at night, it was light to the North(!) at 00.30 most nights. And if you are looking for a touring base, The Studio is a good place to start. We visited Loch Katrine, Loch Lomond, the Lake of Menteith (only lake in Scotland!), Callander, Aberfoyle, Crianlarich, Creiff and Pitlochry.

  • "We spent a very enjoyable week at this charming property which has been very sympathetically converted former kennels into a well appointed holiday destination."

Set in the grounds of Kilbryde Castle it overlooks farm meadows where we have seen fox and deer in their natural surroundings. The studio is well appointed and warm on cold spring days with a very efficient wood burner. The owners are charming and very "hands on", nothing was too much trouble. A superb and relaxing retreat which we would thoroughly recommend.

  • "The cottage was well appointed, with everything we needed."

It was clean and in good order. The internet stopped working after 4 days: this wasn't a problem for us as we used my secure hotspot. My only issue was having only one tea towel, this has been common to all the cottages we have used, and isn't really enough for a week. I would certainly book this again.

  • "The cottage was idylic and just what I needed."

It was so peaceful and relaxing, but close enough to activities and major roads to make visiting other parts of Scotland easy and pleasurable. The wildlife around the cottage made relaxing there just as enjoyable as sightseeing. Finding essential groceries in the cottage and being able to make a cup of tea after a near 6 hour drive was a welcome bonus, Thank you.

  • "Kilbryde is a lovely, scenic and peaceful place and we enjoyed everyday we stayed there."

We booked the Studio for a month while we waited for the flat that we rented in Stirling to be ready, but immediately realised that we should have looked for a place close to Kilbryde. The Studio is very comfortable and has everything we needed, even for a long stay, and the wood burner just adds up in cosiness. The surrounding areas are great for relaxed walks, with the river, the wildlife (red and grey squirrels, rabbits and deer) and the castle gardens all just a few steps outside.

  • "Have raised this matter with Sykes under Ref: COR-62334-CD but have not as yet had any update from you."

Part of the outer cottage buildings were in disgusting condition, I have taken photographs. An entire day of our holiday was lost due to lack of information from the owners, a local running event meant no vehicular access in or out of the area. We subsequently had to re-arrange much of our holiday plans during the week. The advertised WiFi did not operate once during our stay. A problem with ants in the cottage was addressed by the owners but never resolved during our stay. Very, very disappointing holiday.

The towns of Doune and Dunblane are a short drive away, or a pleasant hours walk, depending on your urgency. Very warm interactions with both Mrs.Campbell and a neighbouring family we met on the grounds. The cottage is fully stocked with everything you could need - including jigsaws - and offers a slice of wholesome tranquility thats very hard to leave! Would highly recommend.

Kilbryde Castle Cottages

These lovely cottages sit with others in the grounds of the owner’s castle in the countryside outside the cathedral city of Dunblane in Stirlingshire. The castle and the cottages nestle on the side of a gorge with the river Ardoch flowing at its base. These Dunblane cottages have been lovingly created from existing farm buildings and each has been uniquely furnished and decorated to provide a boutique mix of traditional character and modern amenities. Each property has an outdoor seating area and guests can enjoy roaming in the 15 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland that surround the castle. These cottages are approximately 100 yards apart and can be booked together, accommodating a total of six people. Dunblane is an attractive town sitting on the Allan Water dominated by its stunning cathedral, dating mostly from the 13th century. The station provides good rail links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth. Visit central Scotland’s only Red Kite feeding station nearby and marvel at these wonderful birds in action. Why not enjoy the country walk or cycle to the village of Doune and explore its ancient castle or taste some malt whisky at the Deanston distillery and visitor centre. Delve into history in Stirling with its spectacular castle and the stunning monument to William Wallace. These properties are ideally located for exploring central Scotland with Fife and St Andrews, the Trossachs with their beautiful glens and lochs and even Loch Lomond all within easy reach.

About the location

Stirling 5.9 miles; Perth 28.5 miles; Edinburgh 41.6 miles; Glasgow 31.3 miles

Dunblane is a small cathedral town situated six miles north of Stirling just off the A9 road which has been bypassed since 1991. Its main landmark is Dunblane Cathedral and the Allan Water runs through the town centre, with the Cathedral and the High Street on the east side. The nearby Victorian spa town of Bridge of Allan three miles away is a former spa town at the foot of the Ochil Hills near Stirling. It is named after the Allan Water, which flows through the town and on into the River Forth. With a history dating back to the Iron Age, the village formed in the 16th century when the ford was replaced by a stone bridge and mining of copper, silver and gold took place in the hills above. Today, the main street bears Alexander Henderson’s name and the town is prosperous and home to Stirling University, a golf club and many shops and restaurants. So much of central Scotland is within easy reach of Dunblane, and it has good road and rail links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews. The beautiful scenery of this area makes it a haven for walkers, cyclists, anglers and nature lovers, and golfers are especially well served with Gleneagles about 20 minutes' drive away, along with Carnoustie and St Andrews, about an hour’s drive away. The Ochil Hills are on the doorstep, and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park a short drive to the north. Also nearby is the city of Stirling, Scotland’s youngest city and yet one that has so much history, specifically Mary Queen of Scots and William Wallace, with the historic Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument being well worth a visit. Dunblane offers an excellent central touring location, while closer to home is the historic Bridge of Allan.
