Mrs Stewart-hogg “Absolutely beautiful setting.”
Everything is really well designed. The view is exceptional from the upstairs lounge. Never had such a relaxing break anywhere else. This was our second time here and we have already booked up for next year. Thank you Lesley and Alastair for a wonderful welcome.

Mrs Caselton “We had a lovely break, the cottage was well placed to discover central Scotland & had a fantastic view from the sitting area.”
- Mrs Caselton, July 2019Mr Head “The lack of an oven at this place was of some concern as was the lack of facilities to dry laundry other than an inside clothes rack and the radiators.”
For internationl travellers a clothes dryer or outside line is a must.
- Mr Head, June 2019Thank you for you feedback and your comments about the property. We hope you enjoyed your stay. The property has a microwave which is a combined microwave and convection oven. Guests are able to place the dryer outside if they need to. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Sykes owner relations
Mr French “The hosts were very friendly, quiet & tranquil.”
Good area to stay for going on day trips, local town was interesting. Places to eat & shop were handy, there are also walks that could be taken from the property.
- Mr French, June 2019Ms Burke “I have stayed at The Studio several times, and this time, I stayed for the entire month of May.”
It is a relaxing and peaceful place for exploring much of Scotland! Both Glasgow and Edinburgh are within an hour drive, and you are at the south edge of the Highlands as well. The Studio looks out onto the beautiful Scottish countryside and the three large windows in the sitting area allow you beautiful sunset views, and sits just outside the lovely and historic village of Dunblane. The Studio is well appointed and quaint, with a quiet atmosphere and a gorgeous view, that provides you with a sense of peace and serenity. It is a great place for singles, or a couple to unwind in a relaxing atmosphere, with dozens of sites to see, if desired! I plan to return to The Studio regularly, and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the comforts of a quiet country atmosphere, while having access to all cultural activities the cities have to offer. For those of you who are Outlander fans- there are several filming sites worth note, and it is fun exploring the areas that have been utilized for the backdrop to the story! They are able to film in locations that are easily accessible by foot. From Sterling Castle to Doune Castle, to the place that Douglas took Claire to truly decide whether she was a witch, to the village of Culross, where many city scenes were done, to the village of Falkland and the battle of Culloden, where the infamous battle was was fought. A great class Great spot for a getaway. And whether or not, the rain is often a factor but we’ve
- Ms Burke, May 2019Miss Simons “Surprised to find the cottage was located right by the owners home and disappointing to find a large number of bluebottle flies living inside velux windows.”
Owner supplied us with fly spray for us to treat the problem ourselves. great stay otherwise good part of Scotland to visit
- Miss Simons, November 2018Thank you for staying at The Studio and giving us some feedback. We do advise that the property is on the owners grounds in the description. We're very sorry that there was some flies on arrival, we are glad the problem was resolved. From our understanding they are not bluebottles but small black flies that find a warm place to hide at that time of year. We will take more care to ensure this doesn't happen again. very calm surrounding, nature in front of the terrace. the cottage provides a very well equiped kitchen for self catering, shopping nearby (+-15mins). ideal place for hiking/biking, within 1h drive alot of different parks/regions can be reached. maps for hiking/biking are provided in the cottage (may not be up to date but useful for ideas anyway) as well as board games, books and a comfy couch with tv.

- Mr Rea, February 2018Mrs T.m. Fadel “The studio is very comfortable and warm.”
It is exactly as others have reviewed it. Lesley is a charming and helpful host. The views are lovely from the lounge and it is very clean. My only thing I would have preferred was a normal oven as the microwave with oven function was not so user friendly but in fairness, I probably cooked more extensively than others would! It wouldn't stop me from booking it again though.
- Mrs T.m. Fadel, February 2018Mrs Stewart-hogg “Absolutely lovely property.”
So clean and really beautiful. Wonderful views from upstairs lounge. The couple who own it very friendly but not intrusive, Would definitely like to go back again.

Within easy reach of local attractions and Glasgow and Edinburgh by train. Several good places to eat in the evening and plenty of cafes. Very helpful owners next door. Weather was good too, thoroughly enjoyed our stay
- Mrs Mcardle, May 2017Mr Oulds “Great accommodation and owners wifi sometimes erratic”
- Mr Oulds, April 2017Mr Chan “The accomodation goes way beyond a smilely face.”
It is a warm and lovely stay. The house is located in an area that's within an hour drive to the major cities and national parks. There's also a few treking routes around the villages. A place to get away far from the madding crowd, no wonder the source of inspiration for the novel. Warm hosts, definately a house that I look forward to returning.
- Mr Chan, March 2017Mr Tanner “Very relaxing and great hosts.”

It's perfect for a lovely holiday in central Scotland. The finishing touches were lovely, and the allium theme in the living area was subtle yet didn't go unnoticed. About the location
DUNBLANE
Stirling 5.9 miles; Perth 28.5 miles; Edinburgh 41.6 miles; Glasgow 31.3 miles
Dunblane is a small cathedral town situated six miles north of Stirling just off the A9 road which has been bypassed since 1991. Its main landmark is Dunblane Cathedral and the Allan Water runs through the town centre, with the Cathedral and the High Street on the east side. The nearby Victorian spa town of Bridge of Allan three miles away is a former spa town at the foot of the Ochil Hills near Stirling. It is named after the Allan Water, which flows through the town and on into the River Forth. With a history dating back to the Iron Age, the village formed in the 16th century when the ford was replaced by a stone bridge and mining of copper, silver and gold took place in the hills above. Today, the main street bears Alexander Henderson’s name and the town is prosperous and home to Stirling University, a golf club and many shops and restaurants. So much of central Scotland is within easy reach of Dunblane, and it has good road and rail links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews. The beautiful scenery of this area makes it a haven for walkers, cyclists, anglers and nature lovers, and golfers are especially well served with Gleneagles about 20 minutes' drive away, along with Carnoustie and St Andrews, about an hour’s drive away. The Ochil Hills are on the doorstep, and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park a short drive to the north. Also nearby is the city of Stirling, Scotland’s youngest city, and yet one that has so much history, specifically Mary Queen of Scots and William Wallace. Dunblane offers an excellent central touring location, while closer to home is the historic, of Bridge of Allan.
