  • "A very pleasant setting and a comfortable cottage both for sleeping and relaxing."

The water supply was interesting but the only problem we had produced a swift response fr the owners. Decent food at the nearby hotel, sampling Cullen Skink recommended. We used the cottage as a base to explore Scone, Glamis and Blair Castle.

  • "Pros..."

Very comfortable stay. Conversion nicely done on an old property. Local area and countryside stunning. Local hotel/pub a real gem. Stove an added bonus on cool evenings and gives ambience. Cons. As usual, with all of your properties, not a sharp knife in the place and each thought the other had packed a couple as we usually do. The knives are that blunt that they want re-grinding, and a note suggesting that they are only used on the provided bamboo board, not on the plates! The extraction fan in the rear en suite not working. Could not get the cleaner working. No charging lead (or mop) in place to give a thorough clean before leaving. Asking for the dishwasher to be used and unloaded before leaving unrealistic. We did the normal thing of loading and running straight after breakfast. However, we did really enjoy our stay (4 plus puppy- trained! and would gladly book again.

  • "Very comfortable cottage with excellent facilities."

Only fault was lack of mobile phone cover but that was entirely due to geographical location.

  • "A great cottage."

Very warm and cosy - comfy bed and sofa. All one level but need to climb a few stairs to get in. Ample parking. Owners are close at hand and very helpful - a lovely welcome pack to greet you. Water temperature can be a tad temperamental but not surprising with local water source etc. Dishwasher, washing machine, microwave all there plus plenty of cooking utensils too. Due to Covid and health issues we couldn't partake in the local facilities offered by the very close at hand pub but it did look very welcoming. We have O2 mobiles but no coverage for that one, but the owners did avail us of a landline should emergencies arise. Great to get away from it all and ideal for touring the local area plus Perth and Dundee.

  • "The cottage is situated in the Kirkton of Glen Isla."

It’s a tiny village with exceptional views and amazing walks. It’s well situated for days out being close to the Cairngorms and some major cities. We really enjoyed our stay, the owners are really approachable caring and helpful. The Glen Isla hotel is close by with great food. We really recommend this cottage for a relaxed and quiet stay and it’s great for walkers/hikers as it’s on the Cateran trail.

  • "This is our second visit to Glebe Cottage and we have booked again for 2021."

The only thing we found was that the two sofas are not very comfy for relaxing at night watching a movie after a days walking with the dog.Apart from that it is one of the best cottages we have stayed .

  • "The cottage was much better than expected."

Very spacious and comfortable with especially comfy beds! Kitchen has everything you would possibly need and the 2 conservatories are an added bonus. Location is ideal for exploring the Cairngorms and is fairly easy to get to from nearby blairgowrie. The host was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. Would highly recommend this property!

About the location

BLAIRGOWRIE

Kirriemuir 12 miles; Dundee 12 miles; Perth 19 miles.

The red sandstone town of Blairgowrie is situated on the bank of the river Ericht, where it emerges from spectacular gorges in Strathmore. With good shops, great restaurants and coffee bars, it makes an excellent town to start exploring Perthshire and the beautiful Angus Glens. Surrounded by rolling fields, famed for their berries, the town is overlooked by hills and mountains, and is the main link to Scotlands largest ski centre at Glenshee. The surrounding countryside is the perfect terrain for horse riding, cycling, mountain biking and hill walking, whilst golfers are well-catered for with several excellent courses (including Rosemount) locally. Gleneagles and championship courses of Carnoustie and St Andrews are also within easy reach. Marvel at the world’s tallest beech hedge at Meikleour (600m long and 30m high), see Meigle’s collection of Pictish sculpted stones, or listen to stirring tales at Glamis Castle, the setting for Macbeth and said to be Scotlands most haunted castle! The small town of Dunkeld is also worth a visit with its historic cathedral, riverside walks, impressive trees, such as the Birnam Oak and parent Larches of Dunkeld, and the Hermitage, which offers breath-taking waterfalls. Abundant wildlife frequent the many surrounding woodlands, from red squirrels, foxes and deer to Swifts, Goldcrests and Buzzards, with breeding Ospreys seen at nearby Loch of the Lowes.
