When looking at prospective places to book a holiday and to have in mind, I have a Disabled Wife who has Specific Needs in terms of the Long Term Health Issues we have to deal with and provide for in order to try and make sure the Holiday just as Enjoyable for Her as it is for Myself, more recently, I have had to make provisions in order to accommodate One of My wife's Carers to assist Me with the Care required and also to allow myself some proper respite, time to relax a little while we are away.
When booking a Holiday to a Different Location (ie) Private Site and having to Rely solely on Pictures-Info via the Internet !!, You are always Slightly Apprehensive as more often than not, these Pics etc invariably never give a True Reflection of the property you are keen to Higher for your Holidays, I was also conscious when booking this property, "It was Not classed as Disabled Friendly" although the Lodge was All on One Level with only 3 stairs to be accessed for My wife and with the Help from My wife's Carer, I felt this could be carried out in a Safe Manner with minimum Stress for Her.
The site itself, we already knew of as we have stayed in close proximity to "Loch Manor Site" and the Surrounding Areas In Perthshire, we had also popped into the Site at Easter Time to enquire about the Site in general (ie) Private Lets, Disabled Friendly, Dog friendly, need for Quietness, Tranquil Setting etc, So we already had thoughts of looking to book our next Break Away on "Loch Manor Site" I then started to look on line via "Sykes" by E.mail/phone in the subsequent weeks before deciding on "Lodge 12a" which looked "Fantastic from the Pictures Portrayed on Line" and in essence facilitated most of our Needs, requirements from a Carers perspective also with the Added Bonus of having a Bath in Situ which is a "Prerequisite" for someone who has "Long Term Chronic Lower Back Pain" The En-Suit Bathroom was another Plus in terms of "Manual Handling" Short travel distance to-from the Bathroom both Day and Night, there was also the Inclusion of Showers within the property as seen in the picture Gallery which could be used for Convenience if required, In general the Layout of the Lodge itself from the Pictures portrayed, are very Eye Catching and Attractive to look at, Hence My comments above in relation to what you see initially and what you get in Reality when you Finally Arrive for Your Holiday.
Having stayed in the Perthshire Area at several locations in recent years Specifically for Disabled Persons, I would just like to say that on arrival (16-7-18) to Lodge 12A. both Myself and My wife, Her Carer were More than Pleasantly Surprised on entering the Lodge, we were truely Blown Away with the Décor, the overall Standard of the Interior of the Property, Cleanliness, How well Equipped it was, Ease of Access, Information on the property in general, points of contact etc, Seeing How quiet/serene the Site was, well maintained gardens, beautiful (man-made Pond) with Swans adding to the scenic views, not a lot of Traffic moving around, all plusses for both Myself and My Wife.
W also met with the Owners of the Property Gwen and Andrew who made themselves known to us as soon as they arrived on the Tuesday and to enquire if everything was to our satisfaction also, if they could do anything else to make Our stay more Enjoyable at Lodge 12A. in the relatively Short time we got to know both Gwen and Andrew, they have left a lasting impression on us and I very much enjoyed their company with interesting Life stories, histories flowing both ways, both of them, very Helpful very Understanding and Appreciative of "Special Needs" etc for My wife, both have said, they would welcome us back to Stay at the Lodge any time which was pleasing to hear, more so as we are relative Strangers on the Site, however such was Our Enjoyment at Lodge 12a we are currently looking to re-book within the next month or two for a longer stay perhaps.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Trudy whilst out walking the dog within the Complex, Trudy informed me, She is the cleaner of the lodges and has Her own Lodge on site as well as responsibility at the other sites for cleaning, maintaining etc, again a very Helpful-Outgoing person who was more than willing to give more information on the Site and other Holiday lets at other Locations near by, should we decide to re-book at a future date.
If Gwen and Andrew were looking at having more "Disabled Persons" booking the Lodge then maybe a Ramp Access to walk up would be very helpful, Hand Rail at exterior door possibly another in toilet which folds up when not in use.
Overall, i'd give this property a rating 10/10
