Well worth a visit.
Well worth a visit.
“This cottage was home from home with everything you’d need and more.”
A lovely village and it was amazing waking up to hearing the sea every morning. A great base for exploring fife
“The cottage was more than we expected.”
It was kitted out with everything that you required to make your stay like a home from home. The village and people where very welcoming and friendly. Plenty to do and see. Would recommend this cottage and would go back again.
“This holiday cottage is well situated for the coastal path and the beach.”
The cottage itself has every single thing you could possibly need. It is very tastefully decorated and is bright and spacious. The views from the upstairs living room are amazing. Good selection of dvds and games. Would certainly recommend anyone to stay here without hesitation.
“Fantastic house and very helpful owner.”
I’d one small issue whilst away and my query was answered in minutes. J C
“A lovely quite picturess part of Scotland to enjoy site seeing & walking plus local hospitality.”
“This house was perfect - bright, comfortable, with everything what you need for a great time out.”
Just cross the road and you find a lovely, huge beach. Lower Largo itself is a beautiful place. We´ll definitely come back!
The flat is lovely. Close to the beach and very comfortable. Has everything you need. Pet friendly although we didn't have a pet. Close to local amenities and lots to do especially if you like walking. On the Fife coastal path. Heating a bit messy, not really warm enough in the evening and there was a lot of pet hair on the floors and on the duvet cover on main bedroom, but overall enjoyed our stay.
Most relaxed holiday, beautiful area. Cottage home from home
“Being close to the beach was important to us for the dog also to listen to the waves crashing whilst upstairs in the evening was perfect to help unwind and relax.”
the owners of the cottage provided everything needed for a great holiday.
“Street does get very busy with parked cars but I always found a spot as did my visitors”
A gem of a village and a well equipped house a minute away from the beach. The house has a lot of stairs leading to a top floor with a sea view. A lot of space, great upstairs room, large dining room and a separate toilet from bathroom. Great value!
“Great Location good walks nearby only gripe is the parking”
“Everything you could want in a great location”
Had holidayed in Fife many times before, so familiar with the area, but it never disappoints. Booking could not have been easier and instructions on key pick up/how to get there could not have been clearer. Accommodation on 2 levels with spacious, light -filled rooms and everything you could need on a holiday. Wonderful hearing the waves crashing onto the shore at night and only 2 minutes walk to the beach for a wander during the day. Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful part of the world!
“Stunning views from a lovely cottage just yards from the beach”
Lovely quiet area, ideal to relax , do nothing and just take in the stunning scenery. If that doesn't please take the short drive to St Andrews where there is everything golf and plenty more. My children also enjoyed the sea front at Leven. Cottage is yards from the beach and sea with stunning views. Lay in bed and watch the tide come in and out. Children enjoyed beach as I am sure my dog would have if I had taken it. The cottage was lovely plenty space and quality fittings and lovely and so fresh you could have thought it had just been painted. It was also very dog friendly (although we didn't bring our dog this time ) it has a very big shared garden too. Friendly owner who was easy to contact and easy to book with. Comfortable beds Bad points.... One ... I didn't book for long enough but I will be back.
“Spacious, well equipped, excellent location, welcoming of dogs”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It is very clean, fresh, airy and lots of space. There were lots of little extras which made our visit easy: soap and hand cream in bathrooms, a basket of useful essentials for dogs, DVDs, books and magazines. It had a dish washer and there was lots of crockery and cutlery which made life easy. The garden is accessible down stairs at the back of the house - it is large for dogs to have a good run around but it is on a steep slope so energetic for the owners. The garden is shared but this did not cause a problem as our next door neighbours were extremely friendly and welcoming. The only slight issue was that car parking could not always be guaranteed outside the house, but there are alternative places. We loved being able to see the sea from the windows! Lower Largo is a wonderful village with lots of lovely coastal walks. It is very well situated for exploring Fife.
“Bright and Airy"”
I recently returned from a week in this wonderful property. It had everything I require from a holiday home. The lounge in the attic is one of the stand-out features of this accommodation, offering great views out over the Forth. The room is light and airy and with the windows open, the sounds and fresh air off the sea can be enjoyed from the comfy sofas. Both of the bedrooms are bright and spacious, with plenty of room to move about. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pans and crockery, plenty of storage, hob, microwave and separate oven / grill. It even has a washing machine and dishwasher. The large dining room is off the kitchen, with a large dining table, a second TV and a view over the communal back garden. All the rooms are spacious and spotless. The property is yards of the beach and there are two pubs within 5 minute walk along the main street. One serves food, Crusoe’s, but I would recommend booking a table at weekends or during busy periods. The other, The Railway Inn, does pies and toasties until 5pm. Both are very welcoming with the latter having a great selection of locally brewed beer. There is a little convenience shop in the village, but it doesn’t open late. For a “big shop”, there are several supermarkets in Leven, 10 mins by car. For evenings in, there are plenty of books, board games and DVDs along with two TVs and a speaker system. The location is ideal for exploring both the East Neuk and the wider expanse of the Kingdom of Fife. I would highly recommend a visit to Scotland’s Secret Bunker. Dundee is 40 mins away with Edinburgh, The Falkirk Wheel and Kelpies, barely more than an hour. All in all it’s a wonderful property where I immediately felt at home. It forms a great base from which to explore during the day and relax in the evening. I’ll be back.
“home from home”
what a lovely, homely, spacious flat over two levels with an amazing top floor lounge, full of sun, and views of the beautiful beach, which is literally on your doorstep; listen to the waves lapping lazily as the tide goes in and out, so relaxing, and watch the famous sunsets, it's hard to beat. (even managed to witness the eclipse!) Plenty of hot water and very cozy with full central heating. Loads of books, games and DVD's for those rainy days. WiFi fully functional throughout the property, and good constant full signal, Kitchen fully equipped, dishwasher and washing machine, drying stand and ironing board. Dog friendly with a "dog pack" in case you forget those doggy essentials. Virtually no traffic so tranquil and peaceful. Two pubs within walking distance, both extremely dog friendly, great food in the Crusoe. For the price, fantastic value for money. never had a problem parking outside the flat, will need to book early as its filling up fast!

About the location
Leven 3 miles; Cupar 9 miles; St Andrews 11 miles.
Lower Largo is a small fishing village in a conservation area at the mouth of the River Keil on the Firth of Forth. The village was the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk who was reputed to be the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe. There is a statue of Selkirk in the village and the Crusoe Hotel also pays homage to the village’s famous son. Lower Largo is home to a local shop and a couple of pubs; however the focal point of the village has to be the pretty harbour and south facing beach. Just outside the village are three golf courses, whilst the home of golf at St Andrews is eleven miles away. Just a couple of miles from Lower Largo is the small town of Leven which has a good selection of shops and pubs. A pretty village in a delightful seaside location.
