  • "We were very impressed with 32 High Street."

I would definitely recommend. Everything that we needed was there and flat was well maintained and clean. Only reason we could see that it wasn’t a 4* is because it has on street parking. We always got a space nearby.

  • "A lovely flat, in a great location."

The rooms are a good size, cozy, thoughtfully decorated and furnished. Everything needed for a short break was there, and instructions/suggestions clear and helpful. Communication with the owners was easy and welcoming. The Christmas tree and welcome hamper were a lovely touch, and very much appreciated. We would highly recommend this property.

  • "Lovely spacious, comfortable flat with everything you would need."

Set in the centre of Aberdour, making it easy to walk down to the harbour, which is beautiful, or just a few metres to the Castle. Shops are literally on your doorstep, and Silversands beach less than a five minute drive, where there is a cafe perched above the beach, already making plans to return!

  • "We arrived one and a half hours early, contacted the owner to see if we could drop off our bags, but we didn't get a reply."

32 High Street is a very comfortable property, well laid out, well apportioned, and clean. There are two single beds to the rear, and a double bed to the front of the property. The property is one floor up from ground level with a combination key box at ground level and one at the front door. We used the one at the front door, it could do with a bit more time on the timer light. The apartment is well apportioned and is heated by gas. The system is straight forward and easy to use. There was a well stocked welcome pack on the kitchen table which was very much appreciated, thank you. The living room is comfortable with a wide based sofa. There is a fireplace, but it's only for decoration. There's a very good selection of DVD's which came in very useful for the wet days/evenings. The bathroom is a good size, well apportioned, bright, comfortable, and a good size. The double bedroom (which we used, at the front) is well apportioned, and very comfortable. Overall the apartment is well stocked, warm, comfortable, and in a good location. We would stay here again.

  • "Fantastic property."

Easily found and the check in was seamless. This is our second visit to this property. The apartment is fully equipped for a family with everything you would need for a week or fortnight. The beds are very comfy and there is very little noise from the road. Instant hot water, good shower, dishwasher and washing machine very convenient. I will definitely stay here again next time I’m up in Fife.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and for being such great guests. We would be very happy to have you back! Property Owner

  • "Overall, this is a very well appointed apartment."

The kitchen has everything you need although only 3 dishwasher tablets seemed rather mean. The sitting room was comfortable although the TV was rather small. The large bed was comfortable but the single beds were very narrow and rather uncomfortable probably better suited to children. The weather was quite hot and we would have liked to keep the windows open but this was impossible in the evening due to the VERY loud noise from the two nearby pubs. However hardly any noise was detectable with the windows and shutters firmly closed. There is no very close parking but the station car park is fairly close by and there was always space there. We would happily return to this property if we ever wanted to stay in the area again.

Everything you might need was supplied....spare phone chargers, batteries etc. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise with delicious treats. The owners obviously care about their property and that a good holiday is had by anyone using it. Lots of local information supplied, Silver Sands must be Scotlands best kept secret, we were blessed with fine weather so spent several days just relaxing there.

The property

Settled in the charming seaside village of Aberdour is this lovely two-bedroom, first-floor flat, 32 High Street, enjoying a wonderful position on the village's High Street as its name suggests.

Just a stone's throw from the 'Fife Riviera' of Black Sands and Silver Sands, 32 High Street is also within easy reach of Edinburgh, perfect for a family of four or a couple seeking a relaxing break to Fife.

From the street, head through a timber gate and into a walkway before passing the pretty outdoor seating area, perfect for two guests to use near the shared entrance, before ascending stone steps to your private front door.

Take the first right after coming through the front door and find the bright and open kitchen/diner, with a table and chairs taking centre stage and a pretty outlook of the neighbour's private garden (unfortunately no access) from the window with a window seat, along with a great range of appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine.

Relax in the sitting room at the end of the hall, furnished with a sofa and armchair to unwind into your evening as you enjoy a favourite show or new release on the Smart TV, whilst a vintage tiled fireplace adds character to the setting.

Freshen up in the bathroom shared between the two bedrooms, complete with a bath and overhead shower, as well as a heated towel rail.

Retire to the master bedroom after a busy day, featuring an attractive armchair and a king-size bed, with a large dressing table and mirror, and a lovely view of the high street below, whilst the second bedroom boasts two single beds, which can be zipped/linked together to make a king-size bed.

When you need anything from essentials to ingredients, simply step outside and discover the village's amenities on your doorstep, with a Post Office combined with a village delicatessen found opposite the flat, along with two local pubs, a bakery and a cafe.

Aberdour is home to one of the finest beaches in Scotland, that of Silver Sands overlooking the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh, with pristine sands, it attracts water sports enthusiasts and families seeking a fun beach day.

Take a day trip travelling up Fife's coastline and spotting wildlife like the multitude of seabirds living on the scattering of rocky outcrops, along with grey seals of which there is a large population in the area.

Aberdour's second beach, Black Sands, is close to the flat and is another delightful spot to enjoy whatever time of year, sitting next to Aberdour Golf Club which offers 'golf with a view' overlooking the gorgeous seascapes.

Make sure you pay a visit to Aberdour's most historic attraction, Aberdour Castle, thought to be one of Scotland's oldest stone castles and built in the 1100s, with visitors now able to explore the impressive complex including walled gardens and terraces.

Venture south and into the bustling capital city of Edinburgh for a world of more attractions, from The Queen's official Scottish residence in Holyrood Park to the Scottish National Gallery of Modem Art, Edinburgh Zoo and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, all amidst a dizzyingly large selection of wonderful restaurants, bars, pubs and shops along iconic streets like Edinburgh's Royal Mile.

Explore the Fife coast on your next Scottish adventure with loved ones at 32 High Street in Aberdour.

About the location

ABERDOUR

Edinburgh 18 miles; Stirling 30 miles; St Andrews 36 miles; Loch Leven 14 miles.

The historic coastal village of Aberdour sits across the Firth of Forth from Edinburgh with its main street just inland and connected by narrow lanes to the coastal part of the village. Originally built up around the harbour where the Dour Burn runs into the River Forth, the village was essentially in fact two: Wester Aberdour and Easter Aberdour, however the connection was made with the coming of the railway at the end of the 19th century. What remains of Aberdour Castle is one of the oldest surviving stone castles in Scotland dating from the 12th century. Much added to over the centuries by the Douglases, the site is now managed by Historic Scotland and visitors can enjoy the walled garden and terraces and the distinctive beehive shaped dovecot. Known by the Victorians as the Fife Riviera, the secluded Silver Sands and Black Sands beaches have always been favourites and remain so to this day. The village holds a popular annual festival in late July and early August, including cultural and musical highlights, as well as a regatta and a run. With many lovely walks and a golf course, as well as excellent train links to both Edinburgh and further north into Fife, Aberdour remains an attractive and excellently located getaway destination.
