  • "Lovely clean cottage in a beautiful area."

There was wood for the wood stove, milk and tea even shortbread provided. We had a great stay with kind, thoughtful owners answering any query we had. It was a perfect 4 days and we wished we had booked a whole week! Plenty to do in the area too!

  • "Hi this is a lovely house and we were very pleased when the owner dropped off extra wood for the fire at no charge."

Lovely pub at the end of the road. Only downside was lack of garden for the dog which was small area at the front of the house which didn’t feel very safe as the road was very busy.

The accommodation is spacious, clean and very comfortable with everything we needed at hand, loved it.

Very clean and in a wonderful location.

  • "Really lovely property with plenty of inside space, clean and a good supply of kitchen utensils (except scissors)."

Easy access and parking and exactly as described in the blurb. There are games and books for adults which is not mentioned - we needn’t have taken ours had we known. The house sIts on a main thoroughfare so there were some large timber lorries passing at times during the day, rattling the windows a little but not a major problem. No outside playing space so not really suitable for young children and stairs quite steep. It would have been nice to have had a king size bed in the master bedroom as there was plenty of space for one. Also bath sheets rather than bath towels as the ones provided were quite small. Only little things, as our stay was really enjoyable and there is plenty to do in this area.

Fully equipped including logs and lighters. Plenty of information in the property to help choose what to do.

  • "Wade house was very spacious and whilst family friendly for older children it was more problematic with young children."

The stone hearth and wood burner were totally unguarded, not ideal with a 15 month old and a two and a half year old. Whilst the underfloor heating kept the house aired during the day, in the current weather we really needed to light the burner but couldn’t until the children were in bed in the early evening. The house is in a great location with lovely walks and a brilliant drying room/laundry available.

We felt a few things were missing - as you offer a cot you should provide cot sheets. There was also no hairdryer which is fairly basic.

  • "Lovely cottage, ideally placed with a short walk into Aberfeldy or a short drive to surrounding areas."

    The children loved Wade House.

  • "Our party enjoyed our week are Wade House, however as a non dog owner it was a little disappointing that one of the bedrooms seemed to have been used to house a dog or dogs by previous guest."

The room and one of the single beds in it smelled very strongly and sleeping in that bed was rather like sleeping in a dog's basket.

  • "Excellent cottage and surroundings, old mixed with modern."

Very clean accommodation, large open plan kitchen and living room yet very cosy, log fire just a dream to work and watch, beds comfortable with a toilet/shower on each floor. Would definitely come back for the peace and tranquillity.

  • "Beautiful cottage that had everything required for a relaxing break."

Cottage was very cosy with the welcome addition of a wood burner. Kitchen very well equipped. Only slight negative, one bath towel each for a 3 night stay wasn’t ideal. Having said that, would book again without hesitation (and just bring an extra towel).

2 firefighters and 1 bag of logs a little skimpy for one of the Frosties weekends this winter. Minus 9.

Fortunately I was able to ask the owner. The key to the house is located in a key safe which needs a code to open.

  • "Wade Cottage was lovely - spacious and comfortable and a short walk to the pretty Weem Woods or into Aberfeldy itself."

I had seen one of the reviews saying the cottage was cold - my experience was quite the opposite, with the wood-burner going in the lounge, we were roasting! Beautiful master bedroom - it was lovely to wake up in the morning and look out at the wooded hill behind the cottage -very scenic!

  • "There was nothing we could fault about the house, none of us wanted to leave!"

Both my children loved the open plan living area/kitchen with fire, along with being able to share a room that had an en suite to themselves. My husband and I had the top floor bedroom with shower room, which was to an excellent standard. We had our dog and there were plenty of walks right on the doorstep, so even the dog had a great time! The drying room as you came in the house was an invaluable feature for us all.

It is warm and comfortable with plenty of hot water. The bathrooms were nice and the electric shower was good. There are walks directly from the cottage and a very good restaurant within walking distance. Aberfeldy is only a few minutes way and has lots of nice shops and by the time this is published will have a shiny new Co Op.

The underfloor heating was great too. I found the owner very helpful on the phone and he did not hesitate to recommend things to do, especially if we arrived earlier than intended, as well as ensuring we knew about the laundry facilities. We liked the distance from Aberfeldy - perfect for a walk in to town.

There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. There is a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. In addition, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery. Castle Menzies is a wonderful 16th century castle, now fully restored and open to visitors. Take a distillery tour at Dewar’s World of Whisky on the edge of town. Sample the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the town and explore the galleries and craft shops, including the Scottish Chocolate Centre.
